You, too? Whoda thunk it!!, as we usta say in Brooklyn, when I rooted fruitlessly for "Dem Bums," as the Dodgers were lovingly called back in the day. The Yankees were classy, and the Bums, perennial wannabes, lived down to their sobriquet. So, after an entire childhood, and more, of shamelessly harboring indelicate Yankee-centric thoughts, it was a no-brainer when the time came for me to choose between the Yanks and Mets. Although the former had lost their luster, the latter never had any.

Well, let that be a lesson to you. Mentioning baseball carries risk around here.
I root for The Mets. How about you?
