HI ...
There are consequences for everything we do ... sometimes good, sometimes bad. I will admit I have done some things over which I have fretted and felt shame. But, as you so eloquently said, forgives is your for unwavering faith in Him and facing your indiscretions.

A very touching and emotional read. Best of luck!

Alan

This is a great sonnet in sentiment and expression. You speak of a person who is haunted by "shameful sins" and prays for forgiveness. You vividly and emotionally describe this brokenness contrasted with the hope of flight from a shameful past. The poem is sincere and beautifully written.

Thank you for sharing this sonnet in response to the prompt.

Hi,

= If one asks Him for forgiveness, yet does not forgive themselves, it can be a long and winding road.
= Excellent entry for the sonnet contest. Good luck.

Good sonnet and a strong contest entry. The first to th last stanza, keeps the correct rhyming pattern and line permissions. The first stanza presents the problem, looking for and wanting forgiveness, and understanding she must ask and obey. In the final two sentences, she prays a s king forgiveness, and God does and her brokenness released into light. Best of luck in the contest. Kat

What a powerful poem, of getting older and realizing our dreams left us vulnerable to the things in life that one normally experience while growing up. I thing if most stop and think about this, God holds no judgement against us for breaking rules as long as the value he sets for us is learned. I see a very understanding father who accept the waywardness of his children on their journey toward the truth we finally understand and ask for his help to keep us at his side. Your words conjured up many thoughts from his aging children, and I believe he understands us better than we understand ourselves

A well expressed sonnet that draw one into the feelings this person is experiencing.
"On wings of His forgiveness", love that verse and a great way to end the poem.
Good luck with the contest.

This is a beautiful sonnet in true English Sonnet form. Good iambic pentameter throughout, good abab rhyme. Your turn in the third stanza is very good and I like your couplet. A good entry for the contest and I wish you good luck. Warm regards Dorothy x

Excellent Poem! The poem flows and connects well. The author's words are sad,
strong and thought provoking. The reader pondered on the words and theme of this poem. The artwork is perfect and compliments the words of this poem.

I gave this one an exceptional rating because I realize that it does take a great deal of thought and effort in order to write a sonnet that captures your readers attention. I really like your subject, our actions do carry consequences. Some good and some bad. Your ending couplet puts the rest of your piece in perspective. Very well done. I wish you good luck in the contest. Bill
