I loved this, despite the cruelty that happened along the way. It was a great story of true love and that the Desert Rose Tree helped the lovers and provided an ongoing reminder. It was sad that Jabiru first knew his time, his life was done and that he died after telling the story. Very well done, thanks again for sharing.

I have three Desert Rose trees growing in my garden. They are very slow. However, in Singapore they are in a controlled environment and grow to 30 ft! Thank you sister. XXK.

One of ours is three years old and only a foot high. Plenty of time. Don't water it too much; after all it is a desert tree.

What a wonderful story Kay, and you tell it so well. Keeping the dialect added so much to he authenticity of the tale.
I love reading or hearing the lgends and folk tales of any country. This one particularly struck a chord because my husband recently bought a desert rose, now I can't wait to lt him read this. It will make the plant more special.

Hello Ann, We have a Desert Rose, they are very, very slow growing and don't like a lot of water. So pleased you enjoyed, let me know how it grows; ours is pink and red. Blessings, Kay XX

Such a lovely story, Kay. I am always impressed with anyone who can keep a consistency with syntax, as you have here. The two lovers do have a happy ending of sorts. Hopefully those folks in the 'audience' were satisfied.

I enjoyed this story and got a kick out of Jabiru falling asleep in the middle and having to start all over again. Great work with this Dreamtime story of two lovers finally entwined forever. I enjoyed this one very juch.
