Interesting poem and a great set of notes, however I have to take issue with you in the matter of "nymph". These are always female (Wikipedia has a good article on these minor /Greek and Latin deities. This little fellow is definitely not female - I can distincly see a set omale genitalia present. The sexual predators on the nymphs were usually Satyrs and they additionally sported horns - on their heads! It seems a shame to lose the alliteration in "naked nymph", I can only suggest that a touch of the air brush on the photo might be the best way out of the problem. Lol.

Thank you Pantygynt. Point well taken. I guess I'll have to claim poetic license here.

Thank you for sharing the special fountain and identifying the surrounding plants. I appreciated your notes on the Cornish language and its hybrid sonnet. I admired your use of "panacea" and your rhymes. The entire ensemble "delights the eye"! Cheers- Joan

Your excellent photo of this fountain complements your poem perfectly. Yet another Sonnet: Cornish. Thanks for the informing foot note. The fountain is surrounded by green Fatsia. The water drips over onto a nearly naked nymph.

It's a beautiful picture and a beautiful poem to match. You've really captured how you saw the fountain, I love how you describe the nymph watching each and every drop. You make him sound mischievous lol Lovely rhyme and metre. Nice and unforced.

What a lovely work. Very narrative and done with enticing words. You plough a reader into the essence of the poem with simple word choices you employed. Your author's notes added greater insight to the work.

Inspirations for poems are everywhere if you know how to look, and nature is as overflowing in inspiration as this fountain. Nice picture, too. :)

Cornish people are fiercely proud of their heritage, their language did die out over 200 years ago. Cornish is related to French Breton language, very difficult for me to understand and I speak French. You are good at finding these unusual poetic forms. It fits very nicely with the picture of the flower adorned fountain. Excellent rhyming and imagery. Faye

Well written poem about the nymph playing with the water. Notes about this style of poetry also very interesting. Draws readers into the garden and allows them to experience it.

Arabic meter is usually 7 syllables, and uneven flow.

Thank you for the info on the Arabic meter.
