Tells the story of a guy trying to drink away the pain of a relationship that has died. She's with someone knew or at least dancing with someone and it's hard for him to watch. A relatable poem to all who have been there.

A story of love went awry. Yes, when things went wrong, many people ran to the bar to let off their agony. But only to return home to meet the agony still waiting for them. A practical work.

I bartend and some of the stories I here are quite interesting. Break ups are hard sometimes and one might want to drink to is the pain and forget about what was once gold is now making them blue. I like who you start and end it with the same words.

This is a well written poem. Oh if only there was more ways of breaking down those bars so that relationships could be restored. Even though your lines were smoothly flowing there was a hint of sadness in them.
Above the noise
Of the crowd (throng?)
Torn in two again (would torn again work?)

Lots of atmosphere and emotion in this. The bar is the perfect setting for the narrator to try to relive the past and think of a lost love. The imagery is very vivid as he sees her dancing with someone else and thinks about what might have been. Great reference to the bar, as this seems to be where it all started and ended. judi

This is a very nicely written free verse poem
It reads extremely well
A free verse with a rhyme in each stanza
It tells the common story of lost love
and ensuing pain very well
The only small hitch for me was the line
"Once again/She's not here"
and then "There she is/Out on the floor"
I decided it could mean, she's not here at the table?
Excellent story in a poem
well done

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

Excellent free verse.
Nicely told as I think we have all been there.
Maybe not to a bar...but been there.
The emotions and feeling stated are really felt and nicely done
