Your faith flows through each line...
There is grace here, and reverence that somehow called to me!
God leads us where He needs us and tonight I needed a touch of His divine Love!

Oh my gosh, how did you find this poem? I guess I needed to read it again, too. I needed the reminder of the message as well as the fact I used to write more poetry. Thank you for your comments on it, and for bringing it out of the dusty closet it's been hiding in for so many years.
Take care,
Rhonda

I try to offer a return review to those who visit my work...
When I do it's interesting to scroll through portfolios and select a title that speaks to me!
In this case I felt your poem beckoning me!
Loved this!

I'm touched. I decided to do what you did, and take a stroll back through time. It was sort of fun, seeing what was going through my mind during those times. I left it at poetry, though, it would have taken too long to look at it all.
I do really appreciate you, friend!
Hugs,
Rhonda

You're multi-talented!

Thank you!! It inspires me to give it another go.

This is a nicely written poem. Well thought out. Creative. Spiritually inspirational. Good flow of rhythm and subtle rhymes. Nice accompanying artwork too. God is great and most omniscient. Have a wonderful weekend. Peace be with you.

Thank you, so much, for the heart warming 6 star review, and the kind remarks. Yes, I do love the Lord, and I'm pleased that it shows. Thanks, again, for reaching back and finding an older poem. God bless,
Rhonda

Dear Rhonda:
Hadn't seen anything posted by you since I returned from Oxnard last Friday so came to your portfolio to see if you were okay. I found this lovely "spiritual poem-- the kind I like to read" posted here and dated the 16th, and today is the 22nd. I did not get a message that you had posted anything, otherwise I would have read and reviewed it sooner.
Don't laugh at me, but I checked out the end rhymes first before I actually read it I especially liked "world" and "unfurled" So unexpected and perfect.
In your first stanza, I was particularly impressed by your line, "
"Those unplumbed depths avail for me, "
In your second stanza,
"His dying breath I saw God's peace,
And in your third and final stanza;
the last two lines...
"My heart now moves with heaven's beat,
Enthroned with Christ's, celestial seat.
How perfectly and poetically correct is this poem of great love for our "Beloved Father, God."
Thank you for sharing it. Nan:))

Thank you, Nan. You are so sweet. I went back to work this week, and even though the kids don't show up until this Monday, I have been getting my room ready. Next week I will be even busier so I will be too tired to post for awhile. Thank you for caring about me!
Rhonda

The love of God can often be portrayed in ethereal terms but here we have 'examples' of moments in life when God's love became incarnate and a real living experience

That's a very good point. Sometimes his love shines through the clouds like Rays from the sun, while other times, it flows like a river. Thanks for reviewing,
Rhonda

Wonderful poem. The content was amazing and the rhythm and rhyming was awesome. Nothing seemed forced. I also felt that the art work you chose was very unique.

This is a well versed poem and I loved the way it sounded. The last two lines were the best and bought the poem to a nice faded end. 'My heart now moves with heaven's beat, Enthroned with Christ's, celestial seat.' Thank you for sharing.

Hi Rhonda, this is a beautifully structured poem that shows the deep love you have for God almighty, the look on your fathers face the day he died was wonderfully described, good rhyming, rhythm and a brilliant flow make this one stand out my friend.

Hi Rhonda
This is a beautiful testament to faith. I'm pleased you're one of my brood.
There's nothing greater in this world,
God's lavished love its power unfurled,
Those unplumbed depths avail for me,
His life Christ spent so I could see.
(Very well constructed and rhythmic quatrain. I especially liked the affirmation of sacrifice and how it was for you to unearth God's truth:His life Christ spent so I could see
I saw it once in father's eyes,
Its love-light shone, to my surprise,
His dying breath I saw God's peace,
On wings of grace joy's sweet release.
(This is such a grace to see and feel God's presence at a time of passing over. At one of life's most difficult times you see Christ. That's grace once again. I saw it when Rhondda Davis passed away in 2006.)
In morning's dew I saw God's light,
It stirred love's fire, its depths ignite,
My heart now moves with heaven's beat,
Enthroned with Christ's, celestial seat.
(A natural moment of awe when God is revealed in creation. It's a miracle that can be repeated over and over if one has the heart for it. I saw Christ in that way too and share your joy.)
Terrific poem, Rhonda, and I was thrilled to see your poem up for nomination Poem of the Month. Best of luck.

Thank you so much for taking such time to review my poem, my friend! So you had a friend named Rhonda Davis ( we've probably discussed this before). How special.
And thanks for the nod about the poem of the month. I was very surprised! I was actually tied for first very briefly! But that's okay, I like the one in the lead.
Thanks again, for spending so much time on the review,
Rhonda

We have. Rhondda was my sister who died ten years back.

Yeah, I thought so! I'm sure she was a beautiful person!
