Dogs are great and one inspired this great sonnet. Well done my friend. I have three dogs and they are great. They don't let you get lazy, uh,uh, not them. Haha. Nancy

Well...my dog is the exception to the rule. After she goes, I literally have to drag her to continue the walk. And running- I tried. And she nips at my heels. Still, I would not trade her companionship for anything.

Thank you. Every dog has its own oersonality, but they all have their good points that gain our affection.

Dogs are wonderful companions and are wonderful to walk or job with. One thing I found irritating when I had a dog was not just the dog poo but how on walks he'd suddenly poke his head in weeds to feed this interlude of philosophical musings. Well done, Tom.

Great little sonnet! I have four dogs so I can relate to its theme easily. We walk every morning and they motivate me to get up and get going...

This is the second of the Pushkin Sonnets I've read, and of course, you know who wrote the other one. ;)
I've enjoyed this one.. (and the other) and i love dogs... I especially love that both my dogs love to do what i love to do... sit. stay. good dogs. ;)
Well done Tom.

Your photo is really excellent, and complements your Sonnet perfectly. How many sonnet forms do you know. They seem to be never ending. This Pushkin one about a jogger and a doggy is really nice. I am sorry you lost your own one.

Thank you Ine, it was a sad day. I often think of her.

This is a very clever take on the Pushkin sonnet. I love your feminine rhymes and the EffE sequence here. Actually this form seems to lend itself to a narrative style rather than the description of an emotion. Perhaps that is why he felt he could write a whole novel using it. Mine is out there too but only for one more day as I only backed it with a pot of gold.

~If I ever write a sonnet, I know who to call.... LOL you write beautiful sonnets and a lot of them.
The sonnet is about the relationship you have with your dog, so many positive things about it. I love the ending :) cold and wet nose. Well done!

I wish my allergies could allow me to have a dog - I do love them but..
Great poem and tribute to all those canine companions.
