When the situation becomes physical, you know major changes have to occur. You were right on one point it was a Jerry Springer moment from you relatives end, not yours. Reading this makes me mad for you because if that had happened to me, the outcome would have been different. Amazing.

It is amazing what hurtful things people do to the people they should love and cherish the most. Auntie Dee and your sister seem to have this all plotted out. But I still question, why do all these jealousies exist in families? Peace in our time? It doesn't look like it.

You get the passion of the situation across expertly. The dialog is believable and consistent for each character.

Thanks, w.j. You've now read the next chapter and know the answer- jealousy because Mom and I connected in a special way.

I really feel for you, Shari. It's terrible when people are so threatened by the truth that they absolutely refuse to hear what really happened. That was great description with the slap and your glasses flying. Hugs, Lou

The fighting surprised me, you handled it well. I would have been devastated. It is amazing how some family members cause so much trouble. Excellent story telling here, your words grip the reader with a true to life scene.

It's amazing what stress will do to all of us and unfortunately, it often causes good intentions about staying calm and reasonable to simply snap...often at the worst time when everyone should pull together. I know of a grandmother who played her children and grand children against each other in order to get attention from them. It was like a roulette wheel and the prize was her house and land. It took years to heal the breech between family members...so sad. Clark Kent, wishing he was a super man able to make it all better...

Yea! Another six and on a Friday no less. I've heard of similar stories. She pulled the strings and played a power game. Not a good example to set for the grandchildren. Hey, this trauma was minor compared to the wedding episode. It helped that I didn't care about money. I invested well with my earnings. Lois thanks Clark for thinking so kindly of her. She's ready for a ride around the universe on Superman's back. :-)

Good writing, definitely short and tense. I was remiss to read for language, but it was used appropriately and in a way that was true to life, not forced. Good descriptions and dialogue. I would like to continue reading to find out what happens next.

The best compliment to get--the attention of a new reader especially one named kittykat. I love these furry pets.

Wow...A slap across the face...that had to sting. Dee certainly seems to have everypne, especially Barbara, hoodwinked. I agree with Frank. Dee seems evil but she is hurting and my preacher always says, "Hurting people hurt people."
Does she ever show regret for her actions?

Barb was hurting too. She lived too far away to get close and the one day...
Dee wasn't the type to regret anything as far as I know.

Well, it might be an episode of Springer, except for you and your sister aren't fighting over her black midget boyfriend, ha, ha. Kidding, but wow this is really and so typical of the pettiness that families are so capable of. Sad, yet so true, but it does make for a interesting chapter.

You're a hoot. black midget boyfriend or even worse, sleeping with my hubby. No worry there. Barb never turned him on and vice versa. Thanks for reading, husky.

Again, I must say you have a lot more patience than I do. There is a point when I walk away and it is forever...no,looking back and no second chances. I do hope it all works out for you in the end.
