A touching memory of differing treatments for different siblings. So sad, but of course , not his fault either. I am glad you can write and gain a measure of release. The poem is well written in aabb rhymed quatrains. It tells the tale well and with clarity.

This is a touching poem that the author has created with this piece of work. It is funny how two siblings can have a completely different experience. My uncle died recently and my sister was singing his praises and asked me to join her in praising him. I just said nothing as I don't like to talk ill of the dead, but she obviously got treated a lot better than I did.

    Thank you Tomes.

Your understanding six star review is much appreciated.
It is very sad really but unfortunately often true- a fact of life I guess.
    I understand your viewpoint.

Hi, Shirley...

_ This is a sweet pix of you and your brother.
_ It can't be easy to watch a sibling skate through and never get into trouble, while you can't stay out of it for lack of love/caring on your parents part.
_ I'm just pleased you've come out on top.
_ Take care.

Cheers & Blessings
Keep Smilin'.... Jax (*;*)

    Thanks Jax.
    I appreciate your review.
I really wish I had found this strength to share my story a long time ago.
Thank you for walking with me.
After a lengthy estrangement after our mothers death ( unrelated to childhood or abuse)
Tommy and I are communicating again. Finally he can accept that this abuse did happen..
The loss of our sister has helped this healing as well.

Hi there,

The poem works very well.
There is a good flow and pace to the piece. The words are well chosen, with the meaning clear. It is simple and uncluttered which is good as wordiness does not mask the meaning.

Such truth and honesty in the piece.
Good write.

I thought this well written to describe when one is smitten another child is loved. In my day what was rumored behind closed doors was hushed away. I'm so happy adversity is overcome and the one who suffered is able to heal and feel within her inner self, and help herself to rise above the occasion.
