You are so right. If we don't plan, we leave our children with such a burden. I don't know why, but this note struck a chord...I have been being very judgmental of my daughter who lives with me when she is not at one of her pet sitting houses...thanks for spurring me on to see the best in my life and my girls. As usual, this is perfectly written. (I am working with Rama...very helpful and instructive.)

I'm glad you took that route. Tell her she owes me a referral fee for all the recommendations I've sent her way. LOL. But seriously, once you finish a final edit with RD, you will absolutely know your book is ready for publishing. How many times have I told you I LOVE THE TITLE?

What a beautifully appropriate, and terribly sad, letter. Although the missive couldn't be more reassuring, the words struck at the heart. The fact that this woman was so considerate, even in her manner of dying, seems proof of a quality person, who should be--and no doubt will be--sorely missed.
With mere words (not mere at all, really, lol), you have transported the reader into an arena of heart-rending understanding, and even regret. We only meet this lady once she is gone. And we keenly feel that absence.

I've cried my heart out many times over fictional characters. From "The Thorne Birds" to "The Art of Racing in the Rain," good writing evokes that need in us to connect--and become distraught when that connection is forever broken.

Thanks so very much for the stars and dazzling words. I do believe that euthanasia should be an option for those people suffering the ravages of disease with no hope of relief or recovery. If we can do it for our pets, why can't we do it for people?

I agree with what you say about euthanasia. But there would need to be very strict regulations to go with it. Otherwise it would be wide open to abuse.

This is a poignant write and one most of us never want to look at. Suicide is such a drastic step. I have attended too many memorials for those who committed suicide, so the subject is hard for me. Patricia

It is a hard subject for those who choose this route to escape overwhelming sorrow and pain. But at the other end of the spectrum, I do believe that people who no longer have quality of life should be allowed to make the decision to end it with some dignity. Thanks for reading.
