Please tell me what chemical in your DNA makeup convinces you that being Gay is not a choice? Scientifically it does not exist which makes the lifestyle her CHOICE. Yes, you have every right as her Mother to state your feelings, but realize there are many out there who do not see the situation from your perspective, or hers. This letter was obviously heartfelt but you have opened yourself up to the possibility of wide scale critiquing that you may not find very pleasant. One of the hottest topics in the United States today.

I am very well aware of all the hate surrounding the issue, Brett. It is in my DNA to love my child no matter who she chooses to love and I also believe its no one's business what goes on in her bedroom or her heart but her..She is a vibrant member of society and should be protected under the same laws as you or I and let God sort out her sin if there is one. If the love I have for my child offends you feel free to mute this page and me for I will never waiver in my support for my child and for equality.
I respond with answers and defense because this is not a crit of the work but of my beliefs.

I agree--it's way past the time to forge ahead with this social issue. There's so little love in the world, it seems criminal to deny those the right to love whomever they choose.
Double shame on that church and the pastor. I imagine God wincing at the words spewing from that minister's mouth. I wouldn't want to be that guy in the after life!

Man how I can relate soft butch myself old school. You know your stuff hate lifestyle making a difeance not just a statement. More then a handful of times up against some big guys. Natural came easy to me defending myself. So coots to you.

I applaud your story and am thankful for open minded people like you. Too many of our citizens take little notice of the laws that the Supreme Court are given to approve or disapprove. In this situation you have made a good description of why this law is so important. The LGBT community deserves the rights that others do not even think. Hurrah!

Thanks Bob. I want her to know with my words in public how much she means to me, first. Second I want to stand up for all the people who love without regard for gender or color or ethnicity. Who they or I chose to take into our hearts is of no others concern. Just live and let live.

I said when they allow a woman even to stand behind the pulpit I may consider it.. They already have had one of their so called elders be sentenced for fondling minors and is serving time as I write this.. They tell you to read the Bible and that God loves you..I do not think I want any God in my life that discriminates as the one they believe in....I may write about a Mountain Top but I sure as Hell don't believe a thing I wrote about except the last part.. I don't trust people who thump the Bible and I sure don't trust the God they go thumping about either!! KUDOS TO YOU AND YOUR DAUGHTER AS WELL...tk

I retain my free will Sir Knight. I believe in a higher power but its in my own way. But loving someone should have limited boundaries...I say limited because if I didn't some idiot would comment about letting pedophiles marry their victims. Love is void of prejudice...In my humble opinion. Thank you for this great review and you take on it...I am of the same mind as you.

You did right not visiting that church any more. Of all the people he should have been the one not to be prejudiced. God welcomes everyone to come to Him. Your daughter is who she is and no one can change that. I am glad the Supreme Court made their decision pro LGBT.

I am so glad someone has actually gotten up and said this. We have gay marriage in the UK already. I hope that the States follow suit in this area. It is disgusting in this day and age that this is allowed to continue.
