Hi there,

This was an intriguing piece of writing. A short essay on the nature of God. The scriptures are not always clear on these points either but I agree that there is too much convenience in regard to this area.

Well written piece.

Thank you...I believe clarity comes as we read and reread...even as we might if we got the notification in the mail we had inherited a couple of million dollars. :) Thanks for the review! Dennis

Excellent response. How big is your God? LOL. One must marvel at times at those who seek and visualize God as man when He is before them all the time. My blessings to you for lifting up our Lord.

G'day Dennis. Great point mate and great analogy as well. We certainly can not change God, but we certainly can change ourselves. We need to become bigger in the eyes of God, not the other way around as many people seem to think. Cheers Fez

Thanks brother Fez...it is so true that even a good quality like humility before God can be exaggerated to keep people away from Him and His transforming power. Scripture invites us to boldly come into the Holy of holies because of the shed blood of Jesus.

Remember the thick veil in the temple between the outer part and the Holy of holies was ripped from the top to the bottom when Christ died on the cross. Some say that heavy cloth veil was a foot thick and forty feet long. The high priest went behind it once a year to offer a blood sacrifice for his own sin and the sins of the people. But now, through Christ, that foreshadowing rite is fulfilled and any sinner may come before God freely, be forgiven and born again into a new life.

Hebrews 10:11-13New King James Version (NKJV) Christ?s Death Perfects the Sanctified

11 And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, 13 from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool.
Jesus sat down, because His sacrificial work for you and me has been completed. So we may boldly come to God for all things, rejoicing in such a great SAvior who has conquered sin and ripped away the bars of death. Glory to God! Blessings, dear brother! DEnnis

Hmm, yes Dennis I can see this, I have suspected this for awhile. That often the god of many people is merely an extension of their own pettiness and discontents. But as you have pointed out the true God is much more than our own illusions. An interesting piece, and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Greetings Brother "D",
If I was to writ a profile of God and Jesus according
to all the descriptions I have been told by people who
have had out of body experience, or as your friend when on some drug,I would have him looking like some of those aliens on Star Track.
Good message my friend, good message.
God bless you keep on every leaning side
Bro. Jerry

PS My son was moved to tears by your message to him. He expressed what we have often expressed to each other, that he would like to meet you in person, but looked forward to meeting you in glory.

Brother Jerry! Great to hear from you...I thought you might be traveling...trust your dear daughter-in-law is gaining strength. Best to your son as he holds steady in the faith, looking to come out stronger for enduring this trial, and giving glory to God for the salvation of many.

I love and agree with your description of a god built by the imagination of sinful man. I got some good feedback on this piece and a chance to minister. I also got some strange "sermons" built on fantasy and groundless hope. The ignorance of the Word of God and lack of respectful awe for it, is drowning people into Hell.

Let's keep preaching brother, till He comes or we go! Brother Roy has been very supportive and I have come to appreciate his love for the Savior and His talent for putting it on paper. So lets us three (and there are others) keep "holding forth" the Word of life so some poor old spiritual bum (as we once were) may come along and eat and find himself seated with the Princes at the King's table. Blessings, my dear brother, I love you in the love of Christ, Dennis

    Psalm 113:4
The Lord is high above all nations,
    His glory above the heavens.

5 Who is like the Lord our God,
    Who dwells on high,

6 Who humbles Himself to behold
The things that are in the heavens and in the earth?
7 He raises the poor out of the dust,
And lifts the needy out of the ash heap,

8 That He may seat him with princes?
With the princes of His people.

I can't imagine God being five foot two and 124 pounds! But then again, I don't see him as flesh and blood except for the form he took on as Jesus. On the other hand, I do like the idea that God can be carried around--I think it's called Holy Spirit. :-)

Good thought...as long He is the God revealed in the Bible and not tailored to fit neatly into our preconceived ideas. JB thanks you...

Although I wrote a poem called "little Robin" were the man, gazing at a little Robin in the cold wished he could become a Robin so he could bring the Robin in from the cold! Didn't God Himself become "frail flesh" so he could die for us kind for kind,. it's easier if you know God, what about people falling on their face trembling, can't He be both Dennis? I'm glad He came to me as a gentle loving God, not a consuming fire, didn't Jesus say "if you've seen me you've seen the Father!" Well done, blessings, Roy.

One of the problems I wrestle with is the fact that Christians have boxed god into someone the can manage. Note I do not say a A God the can manage foe a god cannot be control or managed if he could he would be but human

I understand what you are saying, but it causes another problem does it not? An undefined God is an unknowable God. Scripture tells us our main problem is we don't "know" God. This "knowing" suggests spiritual intimacy which is possible through Christ. Since God is love, He sent His Son to us as a man so we could approach Him in confidence. You can trust Someone who loved you enough to die for your sins so you can live forever. God bless, Dennis

I find it so sad that you live in such a small world and have only one focus in your life. Nicely written but the same old - same old stuff. It does get a bit boring.

Its eternal truth. Meanwhile, your never ending search for truth goes on, a fruitless search across a barren landscape with no Christ to welcome and love you at the end. Miss Christ, miss it all. Dennis

I find it hard to believe that someone would see the real God on an LSD trip, which is clearly an open door to the enemy. I must admit, the he was about my size comment, made me laugh! Oh, how the enemy would love us to believe that God is just our size and not very important. We can't contain God and put Him in a box. He is bigger than anything our small minds can imagine. Another enjoyable read.
