Uh oh... watch what you say and who you say it to...
the walls have ears... and they will speak them right back to you!
and to the people you don't want to hear them! :(
yikes... why is it we might say something ... just out of the corner of our mouths
and BOOYA! it comes back to smack us?
:(
bummer.

ok, moving ahead....

I wonder if I had told her not to repeat that, if it would have done any good. I'm guessing not.

Very interesting commentary on your sister and her divorce. You did say you wondered about the relationship right from the first. Doesn't look like she suffered much from it though.
Now the hook for the next chapter has me wondering...Half sister, what are you up to?

Hope the next chapter clues you in. Anne was ten years older and not that much a part of my life.

I enjoy reading your chapters because you give the reader lots of information minus the clutter.

I agree with your sister's divorce. To the outsider her reasons may appear picky. However, if you have to deal with all the annoyances she had to every day, you run for the hills too.

LOL. Just keeping the house cold would do for me. I certainly would not hang on as long as she did.

I love it when I utter the word "Whoa!" out loud after reading a shocking sentence such as the one at the end of this installment. It's the only way I know to brace myself for the turmoil I know is coming. It keeps me interested, so I'm still hanging on every step of the way. Great writing.

G'day Shari. This is another very interesting chapter. Some people just have to be a pain in the ass I think. We all have things we like and dislike but relationships are about compromise, so blokes don't understand that I don't think....one little typo...

"a great job opportunity in Missouri,(space)and Barb,"

Cheers Fez

Thanks, Fez, for pointing that out as I also forgot a comma in the sentence too.

you are welcome mate, but I can't help with commas as I don't know how they work.

I kind of agree with your sister, her husband's quirks could get old after a while, especially the one about the heat. She is quite the achiever and seems to get back on the horse, a widower is next. Great story telling and full of stuff to hold the reader's interest.

Thanks, Elaine. High achiever, she definitely is. Turned out a lot of published academic books, essays.

Sounds like the job offer was one Barb couldn't resist. I think I'd have found some of Rex's habits annoying, too, like wanting the thermostat to remain at 65 or the business of always having to change rooms at a hotel they were staying at. I didn't realize she married again after her divorce from Rex. I can imagine the repercussions from telling Anne that you sometimes resented your mother living with you. She must have jumped all over that! Will be interested to find out how that plays out. judi

I'll have more about her third marriage later. Don't know why I decided to toss it in this chapter. Am working on a contest entry now, but have the next part half written.

I've sworn off contest entries for now. Should be an interesting part of your book. judi

Uh oh...I can see how that slip of the tongue could bring trouble. Rex sounds as crazy as my brother-in-law! Cant wait to see where this is going.

Oh no...I can see an explosion coming with the last sentence..
Family sometimes is stranger than fiction. I do not see why little things annoy so much but they sure do....like fingernails scratching a blackboard.
But love covers those things..my husband finds my messy ways irritating I'm sure but we are in it for the long haul...yay
God bless

Yes, Frank and I discuss our minor grievances --I leave cupboard doors open, he's a master of road rage LOL. We both try to change. Going for fifty years now. :-)
