I think this is beautiful. I love the way you describe your grandson. I have 11 grandchildren and love them all. I could think of them as my butterflies, too. Thanks for sharing this, Roy. It is well written. Miss Sally

I love the splash of various similies you fling about here, it is quite an eclectic collage, and you present the child at various energy levels. I wanted it to sit still for a moment to take a better look at it, savor a metaphor or two, but it was off again, bustling along, like a kid all over the place. Sometimes the beat and verb stress and complex consonants slowed, tripped things up a bit, but maybe that was the effect you were looking for? well done. very imaginative.

Nice rhyme and metre, as always, Roy. No complaints in that area!

You are a blessed man and your contentment shines through your writing.

God be with you this week, friend - and with your butterfly grandchild. :)

It is a well written poem. I like the idea of your grandson being pure minded. The horror of the news bothers him. It is indeed horrifying to say the least. I wish the media would share the good stories more than the bad. Drew

This was really nice. I loved the story that you told. So sweet and grandfatherly. Your poem made me want to cuddle the lad. It brought memories of my own sons at that age. Great job.

We cannot but admire your daughters (and her husbands creation) - and the likeness you grandson draws to your images of a dragonfly or meerkat - the imaginative roles of your own creation.

This is a lovely poem depicting a grandmother's love and view of her grandson's purity. Your rhyming is perfect, wording pleasing and art excellent. Best wishes in the contest.

What a beautiful poem, Roy. I haven't been doing very much reviewing lately, but I'm so glad I read this one. You have all the right words in creating the perfect poem. Jeanne :-)

Roy, Our grandchildren sure did give us lots of inspiration for poetry.
I enjoyed this poem for the butterfly writing prompt. Great job on the
rhyming. Children can be so curious and moving around here and there
trying to see everything. I hope you do well in the contest.
