An interesting read you say what I have worked out for myself in my time here on fan story. And I guess it's a good introduction to new fan story members. I do enjoy the friendship and reviewing but at the same time there are days when you can only read so much.

Your non-profit Public Service Announcement is timely, informative and full of useful tips. But for your essay, new comers and not- so-old timer like me (I have been in FS for five months) would have got the taste of first disappointment in the beginning of the year 2015 in finding all rankings washed out. Your fore-warning would perhaps mitigate the losses of hard work and time.

It really is a good thing, putting everybody on an even level. It gives new people a chance to compete, especially when like you, they only have a partial year to move up. Start writing now and post every day for the first week in January.

Where were you when I first started on this site? I was lost for the first month or two. I didn't know about what the member dollars were for or how to review or how to add pictures from FanArt. It was all a mysterious thing to me. LOL. Great job and I hope you save someone from experiencing what I did when I first joined.

Not only that, I'm pretty sure our local Tom has taken my advice and will be sending out a general notice so as not to shock people, but this is an annual event.

Geez, I forgot it takes six postings to get ranked. I may not get ranked until March at the rate I am going. LOL. Good advice and precise delivery of your information. I am going to try and touh base at least once a week. Hopefully I will be able to review all of your postings but seening as how prolific you are, I may not be able to review everything. Thanks for the very informative reminder. I agree that there should be a "virtual tour" of the FanStory site for new members and as a refresher for the rest of us.

Thanks for the head's-up....wish I had had this guidance when I first joined last year...I learned by trial and error, not always bad, I guess....I used to post short pieces more often and even some poetry, but I am so focused on finishing this book that I write only a chapter a month....It will be forever before I get a chance to be ranked...I don't pay much attention to it for myself, but enjoy seeing the familiar names and writers at the top...you guys deserve your rankings because you put yourselves out there, have a wide-range of subjects, and enter contests. You bring up good points about two centers for one thing. This fresh start seems to be a new thing that started last year. It's probably not a bad idea except people might write "junk" just to get their six posts in ASAP. Hope reviewers have enough sense to give threes and fours where there is no merit.
