I'm sure you like being called a genius. This is brilliant. I had no problem discerning the subject, but the writing is superior. I know, I know, you know, you know. This is the second work of yours I've read and still just lost for a description worthy.

A brilliant reconstruction of Mary Shelley's 'Frankenstein'. Although the Creature is more of a sympathetic creation! The illustrations add to very
memorable piece of writing!

Hello again Dean, I went through all the author's 'reading' pages and looking for more, I found the 'best of' section and going into my favorite genre, I found your stories :) of course, I should have known. I am enjoying reading your poem and stories, I am glad I found them.

Have you ever watched "Young Frankenstein" ? I don't know why but reading your story reminded me of that movie. -Dr Frankenstein, "What did it say on that brain?' Igor, "aby normal" (abnormal)- LOL that movie cracks me up. I have always being a big fan of the Frankenstein movies, funny or serious.

By Mel Brooks, yep, I own that movie, Gypsy. Gene Wilder is perfect in his role as Dr. Victor Frankenstein (that's Fronk-en-stein, heh-heh), the bug-eyed Marty Feldman as Igor, Peter Boyle as the monster...it's a hilarious film. Terry Garr was great in it too as Inga. Actress Cloris Leachman, as Frau Blucher, and the great Madelin Kahn of Saturday Night Live fame as Elizabeth. It's one of the few funny films I own. Most of them are Monty Python's Flying Circus films, and all of Mel Brooks movies like Blazing Saddles (another favorite of mine), and High Anxiety, to name just a few.

Thanks a bunch for your review. I'm glad you liked this one. ~Dean :)

    Hey, Kentucky Sweet Pea...

Thanks for digging this one up (no pun intended), dustin' it off, and giving it a once-over. I realize this type of poetic expressionism isn't everyone's cupp'a Joe, but those who like it really seem to enjoy reading them. Those who don't, well...they hate it. There doesn't seem to be any sort of "middle ground" for these picture-laden story poems.

I never got the opportunity to read the poet you've mentioned here in your review. I've only been a part of FanStory since March of 2013. I imagine I would have enjoyed her writing.

Thanks for the "sixer", and for your kind comments. All are sincerely appreciated. ~Dean

I GAVE THIS POEM A 5 BECAUSE I THINK IT FULFILLED YOUR OBJECTIVE...WHICH WAS TO MAKE THE BELIEVABLE...NEVERTHELESS, ALTHOUGH I CAN'T GET INTO DARK POETRY, YOUR STORY TELLING ABILITY WAS HOT...AND I MUST ADMIT, YOU HAVE IMPROVED DRASTICALLY. I AM TRULY HUMBLED.

Thanks, Titan Black, and the fact that you believe I have made tremendous strides as a poet means a great deal to me, my friend.

I realize that dark poetry, Gothic themes and horror isn't your bag, but that makes the fact that you decided to read this that much more meaningful. I'm really glad you gave it a shot.

Thanks again, TB. I wish you all the best!

Oh, well done Dean. One of my favorite stories - and conundrums- as the creation of life, in man's hands, would lack a soul. Can one feel, engage, or enjoy life without the soul to temper the spark? Or is that spark the true soul and good and evil merely a convention of mankind. Always a good question. Your inner rhymes are fabulous and give the piece that sing-song, storytelling by the fire on a stormy night feel. I loved this. - Wendy

Hi, Dean. A superb poem ... the animations perfect. You continue to be a master writer, and your horror themes are always on target. One problem, though. The script font is not legible; I couldn't read it. It may be me, but you may want to check it out.

Dean, a year ago you said you were going to buy my book for your library, "From the Realm Beyond." Don't believe you did. If you still want to, I will lower the price to $10.00 (soft cover), plus S&H. There's always the digital copy on Amazon.com. Please let me know.

Thanks so much, John, and I will look into reformatting the font.

As for the book, I do still wish to purchase a copy. But since I am on disability now, while getting a few meager payments for my writing here and there, I have not been able to come up with the extra money to do so. Still, I have not forgotten you, my friend.

    Thanks for your exceptional rating and review. It is always such a pleasure to hear from you!:}

No worries, John. I make it day by day. If my book gets published, as I'm expecting, I can purchase all of the copies of yours, and then some, my friend. So, please keep me in your prayers, and keep your fingers crossed that it gets accepted by one of the 42 agents I sent it out to!

Love the word play here with how you keep the rhymes coming in short order like "ghastly face so stitched and laced." And as always the word choices are powerful.
