This is a very good story. My mother died of lung cancer so I can totally relate to this story. You used very good imagery and very good wording. Great job my friend. hugs, Teri

A very beautiful tale of a woman who knew what life was about. The sharing with others and the giving of love. That is a true legacy to leave.

lynglyng: your story brought tears to my eyes because it is so full of love and God. I could relate totally to your mother wanting to make her last Christmas a really good one for all of you. I have a failing heart, congestive heart failure, after 18 long years of heart disease. A year and a half ago, I was told by my doctors that I would only live six months. I planned a great Christmas and it was and I am still here planning another great Christmas which might be our last. Have two Christmas presents bought already. I do as much as I can with what little strength I have. The red bird story is true. At the time I was told I had only six months to live, a beautiful red cardinal would sit on a branch of a tree outside my bedroom window, every morning. Let God be the glory! Nice writing. livelylinda

What a beautiful memory of your mother, who from all accounts, was a wonderful Christian woman leaving behind an incredible legacy of hope and faith in her Savior Jesus Christ.
Her passing from this world to the next was truly peaceful and memorable to all your family, and very comforting because you knew she would be met on the other side by her Lord.
Very inspiring.

A tender story full of love and faith. You tell it with deep devotion. Your mother sounds like a wonderful person, and so you--so full of joy and hope and love.

I noticed the word couldn't't twice in the story. Is that a mis type or a regional thing?

Ahem!!! This is a wonderful post and you're right Our God is an Awesome God!

She left us a wonderful legacy of trusting God, when we couldn't't see His plan. (extra 't)

this is very well written, lynglyng, you did an excellent job writing this essay about the love your mother gave everyone and the spiritual homegoing that you gave her, gathered around her bed to sing. my mother had three weekends of people surrounding her bedside and singing to her. when I experienced it with her, she held my hand and told me it was going to be okay. she comforted us while she was going home.

Hello there~!
Sorry to hear about your mother. I'll pray for her and your family as well.
'God is good. His love is never failing and His mercies are new each morning. A life lived to bring Him glory is never a life wasted, but a life invested. '
These are beautiful lines that all the religions in the world believe in. I too find this absolutely lovely. Thanks for sharing~!

JazakAllah Khair~!
(God Bless~!)
