You are not only a writer , you are a great comedian, and I remember when I first saw your picture here on FS, I was sure you do have spontaneous jokes under your armpits. I enjoyed reading so much you r bla bla bla, about you men, who don't buy for their women, but you had to. And I am sure you loved that, as I mentioned before, you are a giver. I am so happy getting to know you more, by having my time reading about you. I hope to meet you one day, if I settle down in the US, hopefully soon. Love you again Terry xoxo
Sorry all my stars are already gone. ******************xoxo

You make me laugh! Your wife is smooth! As smooth as your long hair and way a car glides when it runs out of gas - smooth! Things work a bit differently at my house: A: he would never be caught dead in a pawn shop with me and #2: I'm the one not big on shopping. Although I do like to keep my tank topped up.

Excellent shorty, Mikey.

One teensy spag: husband(s), boyfriends,...

For your sake, I hope the bit about the shopping channel is not true. I am the same. If I were a vampire, the only way to kill me would be to brandish a mall- well, no one could lift a mall, so stab me with fliers. I own two pairs of shoes. Zappos- damn them- my wife has two closets full of shoes. The last piece of jewelry- don't think so.

The great enabler! This is hilarious. I love the visual of all the men reaching for their wallets in unison. So, you're the "charming" guy that runs out of gas frequently?? If so, perhaps your wife really deserves that tanzanite ring! :D

I, being a totally emotional female, and sure your wife it telling you the truth as she sees it. (That's the last piece of jewelry you'll ever have to buy me". & period goes inside the quotation mark.) LOL
I loved this posts.

I also tend to drift off topic, onto tangents, sometimes before even establishing what the topic is. (ME TOO!)

I love tangents! That period and quotation mark thing kills me. Spell check says one thing, Europe says another and America says another. I think you are right though. But, when I do it that way I get someone telling me it goes this way!! Yes. I do believe her when she says that. It doesn't last long though. Hahaha. mikey

Darling Mikey, you sweet, enabling hero, you! You don't have me fooled. Your wife is the one who enables your compulsion to be heroic! You must fulfill that hero's role, or perish. Your lovely wife is only too happy to oblige. Hahaha!

This was a charming little narrative, which only you could pull off without causing any sort of offense or seeming chauvinistic. I almost felt sorry for you...

You are a wonderful story-teller!

Stephie

I can't be chauvinistic as I am aware that females are superior. I have no idea what they want with us, but I have enough sense not to argue with them... barely. Hahaha. I'm so happy you liked this. This comes kind of easy to me. Almost like blathering over a cup of coffee. Thank you! mikey

Love the opening and the way it introduces the narrator and his attitude toward life
wonderful vision of the customers at the pawn shop LOL
Fun commentary on home shopping and tanzanite and the come on strategy for selling such projects, creating a need and exaggerating value
I'm dying of laughter at the man who spoils it for all the other men as he makes a cash purchase, making the rest of them look bad
thank you, honey - add comma for direct address
perfect ending :-) Brooke

I thought that this was pretty funny. The shopping channels act like if you do not purchase now, you will regret it forever. This was well written.

Great wit. I loved the descriptions of the bar crowd (shoppers)Now, I have to feel sorry for you, too because of the Tanzanite! Great use of language in the narrative, descriptions, thoroughly enjoyable read. Faye
