This is absolutely and totally beyond awesome! I loved it so much I went to Youtube and watched 3 versions of Charlie Daniels The Devil Went Down to Georgia, then reread your poem. I honestly don't know what I could possible say to convey adequately how much I loved this one. I want to apologize for not having a 6 (which is most assuredly not enough) to give you for this. I loved it immensely and if it doesn't win poem of the month, there is something seriously wrong...great work with this one.

A delightful tribute, Dean, not only to Charlie Daniels but to the entire genre. I loved it. Six stars are not enough for this classic. Nicely done.

Dean, that was outstanding! Growing up a good southern boy I have Charlie Daniel's song memorized. I found this piece to be a perfect conclusion for the fate of Johnny. The rhythm throughout was flawless and kept in tune to the original I had running through my head.

I can see a possible poem of the month here in my opinion. I also loved the presentation, the entire piece was very well thought out. Simply Superb!

Exceptionally cool, Dean.

I could hear the music in my head as I read this.

Would this be a B side or a lost track? LOL

Wait...extended version with class...yes..that's better.

Thoroughly enjoyed this!

Dean, this poem which I hummed along to as I read, is worth far more that a FanStory 6 (which, alas!, I don't possess to give you). I think it should be awarded the poem of the month honors.

You did a brilliant job! And, where in the world did you get the art work that accompanied it?

I found only one small nit.
"as he spread the gospels seed" [GOSPEL'S seed]

Thanks for posting this, Dean.

Hurrah! I found I DO have another 6!

It is rather like a saga (mediaeval legend) It demonstrates that with God's help, good will triumph over evil. Your choice of words and rhymes were excellent and it flowed along like a song. I loved the visuals, you are very adept. Most enjoyable. Faye.

Thanks, Faye, and I'm glad that it reads like a song because it is based on one. I don't know how adept I am, but I know that I love telling stories, be they poetry or prose.

Thanks again, my friend. I appreciate it!

This is definitely the work of the renowned author Dean Kuch.
Chills moving through my body reading his work.
It never ceases to surprise me always. A great job and impeccable in every way.

Hi, Dean.

Do you mean plural - 'demons hissed' rather than the possessive 'demon's'?

I didn't read your notes as the bloody poem is long enough as it is. LOL

Great story in a poem of the dual between the Godly gifted Johnny and that old dope, the devil, who understandingly didn't like 'Amazing Grace'.

Sure held my attention throughout.

Here's a well-deserved sixer. I still had four left on Thursday despite reviewing my butt off the last few days.

Cheers, Ray

Thanks a bunch, Ray, I'm so glad you liked it. And you're absolutely right, I meant the plural form of demons. Thanks, I've fixed that as well.

Much obliged for the extra star, too!
