Thank you very much. When I saw the picture, I just had to write the 'imagined' backstory. It was a little gross, but fun.

fantastic picture
I'm laughing so hard because my daughter is forever posting pictures and videos of Sawyer, and I'm sure some of them will embarrass him to death some day. LOL
I love this baby's attitude toward the humiliating videos LOL
Oh, the reveal in the final line is hysterically funny. What a visual you have left in my traumatized mind. LOL

To the author of My First Mistake. Chocolate! Disgusting! But everything else about your poem was not only cute but true. You Tube is getting out of control. Good luck in the contest. Carole

Not a very welcoming site to behold when you see your baby into feces possibly all over his body and not realizing the
insidious acts could become overwhelming when it came to the odor.

I really liked this " why didn't somebody stop me " writing contest entry! I like the role reversal, as if the child was looking through wise, adult eyes! This was very cleverly written, it held my immediate attention, it's difficult to establish something meaningful in such a short write, but you have done that here! Good luck in the contest! Blessings, Roy.

I love the picture. The baby does look embarrassed. He will be an old man and still not live that one down. I am still embarrassing my children and they are middle aged. Adults can not think up all the trouble the babies and the little ones can get into. Great work.

Gag me with a spoon. LOL. Quite an ending. The dog leaving "chocolate." It's real possibility this could happen. Great reference to the effect of Facebook and YouTube on our future. A fun read.

This is priceless. Love the message and love the humor. I think someday should be separate words...some day, but I could be wrong...it just looks wrong together. Cute pic and fabulous end line.

Ugh! Poor kid, isn't everyone entitled to one little mistake without it being posted all over the social media sites? But, this kids mistake was one helluva mistake. I wonder if it is situations such as these which spawned the phrase, Sh!t eating grin?

Funny stuff, and we all know that if it tastes like dog crap, and it smells like dog crap, it's best if we avoid stepping in it!

Thank you very much, Dean. Yes, we know that, but Babies have a nasty habit of look, touch, taste. Glad you liked it.

This is soooooo cute :O)

I love how you wrote it from the first person narrative. Their thoughts for the future.
Actually found it quite humorous.

Best of luck in the contest
