Is it really that simple?

Hi, Lancellot.
You've written a good article showing racial profiling and labels that are placed on others. Your dialogue is good, hard hitting and honest. Sadly, people do judge and label others. I really like your reference to the purple and green skin. You'd hope that this kind of stigma and labeling is a thing of the past. How sad it still exists today. Great story.
Bye
Rosalyne :)

Great little moral tale here, lancellot. Straight, and to the point. Speaking of points, I could see both guys sides in this dispute, it has to be extremely aggravating to be followed around like an applecart to a jackass. on the other hand, it was good to see that Sam got his point across, and Malik was a wise enough guy to see where he was coming from.

I would think it would be pretty fun to work in the same office as you, Lance. Probably never a dull moment, huh, LOL?

Good work, my friend!

Great way of describing the situation, and definitely 6 stars! You do a fine job of showing Malik's resentment. Because he thinks Sam is following him he assumes Sam is a racist who thinks he might steal something. Malik also shows his awareness of Sam's racial identity by wondering what his name actually is. Interesting that the two don't end up in an actual fight. Sam's remark about all the men who have tried to rob him being black seems to strike a chord. Just enough details about the two men and the store setting. Glad they were able to talk through their differences. judi

I wish that this didn't go on but we both know that it does. I feel in this day in age that we just need to not judge until we have a reason to like I tell everyone I will trust you until you give me a reason not to. Thanks for the read and happy writing.

Excellent piece. It's not racist... it's smart. Statistics are what they are, after all. The probably IS greater, and to deny that, is just plain stupid and naive.

Remove the first comma before SAM.

Absolutely excellent! I have never seen racisim stated more straightforward and eloquently. I think this story should be read every time a racist issue comes up. It gives the reader a lot to think about. Spectacular job.

Thank you very much. I wish more people could be open and honest about in the media, but there are too many forces at work.

A well written piece. The conversation comes to a logical conclusion. The dialogues are natural, not forced and seemed to flow well. A well concieved and well presented story from a real life observation.

Racial profiling is a reality. It's bad enough when it is individual in intent, as outlined in this clever vignette between the black teen and Indian store manager. When it's endemic in systems such as policing, injustice reigns. I researched the topic in an Australian context between police and African youth. I got a real shock with what I found. I thought this small slice of life played out so well in this story, was an excellent way of bringing the issues front and centered. Well written on every level.
