I agree when we go away and pay for our stay we
"Hospitality should be making your guests feel like they're at home, even if you wish they were." Gert

Thanks for getting to this Gert. I felt it was needed to be included in Tootsie's Chapter about that particular holiday. Seeing I was avoiding "stealing Louise's thunder "

You are welcome Sankey. Gert

Thanks to Tootsie, I picked up your poem too. I also have met many folks who should not be in the hospitality business, and I have had FanArt pictures disappear. I enjoyed your rhymes and rhythm in these quatrains. Cheers- Joan

Thanks Joan! Guess what! I got my new keyboard and mouse today. Keyboard already had its first coat of Clear Nail Polish to protect the letters. Now I just have to remember they must be re-painted once a month as I was losing letters when the NP paint wore off in places.Glad you related to my poem.

Congratulations on getting your new keyboard. Remember to mark your calendar to keep up the nail polishing of the keys. Warm regards- Joan

Yep I wrote it up in my helps book.

I can identify with your poem as some people in customer facing jobs are not providing a good service to customers. There is an art to it and it's not all about giving in to the customer, but meeting their expectation can be a hard task, love Dolly x

Thanks Dolly. Some asked for more detail, but at time of writing, my wife was writing her book on here, about "Our Trips" and she did not want me stealing her thunder. That account is gone and so is her book. I might ghost write it again in this account and give more detail and change things a bit later.

This is a great poem that sums up the difficulties you too often experience when traveling. We use both holiday AND holiday in America. They are interchangeable. Nice work with this one.

Hospitality is a hard thing to do and you have to put up with a lot from a lot of different people but in the end we are all people and should be treated as such. I'm sorry you've had bad experiences but don't let that one person or couple people ruin it for you

Thanks mate. We don't do long trips anymore and now Louise had had more problems I don't know what our future is for travelling anyway.

Hi Sankey. I realize that this is a repost of an older write, but it still holds true for travelers whether in Australia, U.S., or anywhere else. Accommodations as touted are not necessarily realistic and disappointment is common. I've experienced the same thing. Marilyn

Hi Geoff, sometimes it's not fun at the time, but hopefully you can look back on it now and have some great stories to tell.

Yeah mate. Pleased to note they have gone out of business. Bet they treated others same and it bit them on the bum/butt, eventually.

Good job of telling how hospitality can be different for different people. Too bad this sort of thing happens but it's just reality I guess. It seems that handicapped does not mean anything to some people and some businesses.

Yeah Bro so sad. His wife was a lot more understanding. I feel for her having to put up with him. I guess he is just as bad with her as with "different" clients. As an update I don't think they are there anymore. We aren't doing travels, no more, neither these days.

Aw, such a shame. Hopefully in the future, you're experiences will be better. It's harder when you're limited, I know. The 'Fanart' artists may have fallen away from Fanart and 'disabled' their work. That's happened to me before. Happier journey's to you! Blessings...

Thanks friend. Our travelling days are now over, sadly. I am planning on "Ghost-Writing" my wife's book she wrote in here 'Our Trip Book"...long story about trouble we had being a couple and both paying members on FS with the inability to neither review each other nor both reviewing anyone else's work...very unfair due to Tom's firewall system to stop writers reviewing their own work.Such trust, but I am sure if some could review their own and bump them up-, they would. JKust a pity it cause us problems as well.

Oh, that IS a shame. Never heard of that before. Be well...go with God...

This is very good. It's interesting to see the differences between the two nations. I the states we can't go a block without seeing a hamburger joint or a motel.

Thanks mate. Your pop is TEN times ours, but funny thong is I reckon our land area is probably the same, hehe. Hoping to re-write wifey's trip book which will probably include this poem. More detail, then.
