I thought it was hilarious. The rhyme flows perfectly and makes the poem an easy, entertaining read. Since you post every day, this must be something you just thought up on the spot. I'm so envious. It works well as a poem, and keeps the reader intrigued throughout. Good job.

Yes. This one was off the top of my head. I couldn't resist the silliness. Hahaha. Glad you liked it. Great fun. I have a back log dating back to high school. But, lately I have been busy with my story and once in a while something like this. mikey

Hahaha. Is it that obvious. In that case, I better run for the hills. Those gals are scary. I think they have grenades in their nickers!!

Yes. That must be a shock to the usual top dogs. I just post a lot of writing. Two more chapters today. That is the key really. Or throw a fortune in money at it. Hahaha. Twelve is great. There are thousands of writers here. Look at some of the names behind you. Just keep writing. It is early in the year. I'm just posting a lot to give them a little scare. I doubt I can stay ahead of some of these folks with two or three hundred fans. But it is fun to scare them a little!! I'll be happy if I can end up in the top ten. mikey

A cleverly orchestrated poem that
has a rhythm of its own as it dances
down the screen in a rakish fashion
tending to lure that unsuspecting one
into his liar of love, or is it only that
he is in truth a rogue.
A poem that is sure to bring a smile
to all who stop to read it.
Well done

Glad you liked it. I tried to stay out of it. It just looked like too much fun. I feared that there may be a poor gal that might need comfort. Any gentleman would be ready to assist. mikey

The boys break ranks and begin to run! Scattering to the four winds to escape the wrath of the hens! Only, what's this... one comes forward, aluding to provide comfort and a shoulder upon which to cry...? What underhanded roguish behaviour have we here!?

(Please... PLEASE! tell me this photo is not an earlier life portrayal of yourself!)

Good one, Mikey!

No. I had a baby face which is sadly gone away now. So, I can't get away with anything. That is a candid shot of the Rogue himself I got from a girl he dated once. Apparently she didn't care for the extra company. mikey

Glad to be involved in this worthy and important work. Trying to step softly believe me. Hahaha. I don't want the lovely gals to tear me to shreds like the poor Rogue. mikey

So you also jumped in the fray. Just one question- that babe in the picture...is she free later? Your motives pure gold- uh-huh, said the velvet spider to the fly. That brogue and wink give you away.

I hope the gals are fooled, but I doubt it. I am glad they don't know where I live. They are a little scary actually. But, I am foolish and I have plenty of cold duck to give me courage. mikey

Hi Mikey, this is adorable and a very sane response to the antics of the Rogue. I loved the use of internal rhyming in each line and the seen/Vaseline rhyme pair is very clever and funny. I'm probably not going to keep writing ripostes, but it's definitely an amusing exercise.

I hope you realize, Mikey, that your character is the "nice guy" who swoops in to comfort the injured party, hoping for love, but only getting that devastating statement, "I love you like a brother". ;-)

Good luck with that!

Seriously, though, fun stuff, my friend, although I'm probably taking a break. I'm afraid that a few people starting to associate me with real people from their past, and it started taking on a personal feel...at least for now.

I have five ready to go, but think I may want to hold them in reserve. My last one rang a little too true, or a little to biographical, I think, and I don't want to be responsible for bad memories.

Excellent. That is just what I want them to think. It has been a lot of talented writing devoted to such a serious topic. It is a fun diversion though. Couldn't resist. mikey
