Most people are automatons acting upon thoughts they were convinced to hold as true. << Sad, but definitely correct.
Very interesting article. Only one thing I don't understand... what is this spirit that lives on? When the body dies, doesn't the mind die as well, since its existence is dependent upon the network formed in brain cells and more generally the entire body 'memory' of our lives?

It all makes for fascinating reading. In the beginning our intrinsic understanding is instinctual; a pattern that is not awareness. We are at first close to our very essence. Having challenge our erudite writer we must now concentrate on awareness. Our writer is very scientifically minded but let us be simple. We must surely gain a state of choice less awareness of ourselves in our relationships. This is a state beyond the mind and memory which is of the past. We are talking of relating in the eternal present beyond our imaginations. I think your last sentence says it all. -Ekim777

Good to be there and feeling it. I find it comes and goes. Oh, it leaves a mark at every encounter, but ego is a strong adversary. Living in the moment is a decision that has to be reinforced again and again, until you live there permanently. Hasn't happened for me yet.
