A bounty hunter named Samuel, bound by evil...very interesting premise, Lancellot. I frequently read Jonah Hex comics as a youth, and still am quite fond of the story today, at 53 years old.

In this instance, our infamous hero is loosed on the wretched streets on the seedier side of Chicago, in modern Day times. With his ever-loaded sidearm on his hip, he wanders the city in search of evil doers; much like Johnny Blaze, of Ghost Rider fame, serves an evil master, yet looks to do good on his own terms.

One of the unique qualities of Samuels soul eating Colt revolver is that as it detects evil, or foul play, it begins to pulse and shake, like a heartbeat. It also allows Samuel to see, through visions, images of things that happened to certain people. It came to claim the young boy, a brother of a dealer, who had prayed that his brother be spared from death, but prayed to the wrong entity, the devil himself!

This is an excellently conceived and very well written story, lancellot! I loved and enjoyed each and every word of it!

"This made since sense to Samuel"...Wrong form of the word used here, lancellot...

Thank you very much. I'll fix that. I read Jonah Hex and Ghost rider comics also. I was happy when they made the Big screen. Not so happy with the results, but what are you going to do. Is that a picture of Roland for the Dark Tower series?

Yep, it sure is, one of my favorite characters from Stephen King's 'Gunslinger' stories...

Awesome story, I wish I had a six to give you it was well deserved. This was a great take on the bounty hunter story and I loved that he was hired by a demon. That was a great twist.

What a story this was Lancellot. A bounty hunter he was for sure and boy did he ever find out in that alley eh? I like that his wounds were healed automatically.

Interesting. New take on bounty hunting. Reminds me of the series Brimstone where the hunter had to hunt escaped demons and shoot them in the eyes, the window of the soul.
Good picture and idea. Nancy

A story with potential was well plotted and structured but too many SPAG infractions to name a few:

"... used a granade GRENADE...
"This made since SENSE to Samuel.
"... few reaps he...REAPS?
"... The hunter... (you did not CAP 'Hunter' Why?)
"The hunter looked down..THERE ARE MANY MORE
CONSIDER:"...enjoyed its many blessings. (.."the gift of life.=2x)
"...the Colt.45 was...
"... learning in schools(.) But on the...
"... corroded community(,) the boy runs...
"... living men have witnessed (,) the hHunter...

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE SENTENCES?
"The hunter was surprised ..
The Hunter spun to his left..
The hunter's left hand pushed back...
the taller teen reach ED into his waistband.
A quicker LIGHTNING draw brought the Colt free.

Too many 'was' words USE: "...whenever evil lurked nearby.
"...by evil(,) had few alliances...

Regards:

I read this prompt for this contest. I am bowled over with what you came up with. I like this story. It almost has a western feel to it. i get the feeling that he accepts his fate but really doesn't like it. It was easy to read and flows nicely. It also surprised me in the end when he had to kill the boy anyway. Well that's what you get for trying to be nice. Very well written. Thanks for sharing.
