This was so enjoyable. Your descriptions setting the
scene, taking us there.

It's such a pleasure to
read work well presented and understandable, which
makes it a pleasure to read rather than a chore.

Thank you very much, Margaret. I have learned a lot from great writers like yourself on FanStory.

A different time; a different place, but this is Elric of Melnebone-influenced, and skillfully done as the immortal prince manifests as a bounty hunter and soul-eating sword becomes a colt .45 in service to a new demon. I like it. :) Nancy

Thank you very much. I am unfamiliar with Elric of Melnebone. Is that an English legend? Where do I find it?

It's decades old. Fantasy antihero in an alternative Earth. The Elric Saga by Michael Moorcock. It's pretty dark, but excellent writing.

A well written story with a strange twist. The bounty hunter's colt speaks to him through vibration. Good suspense, good description of characthers and area. Overall,
very good work.

The colt was just the medium that he used to get the job done. A debt has to be paid. When you sell your soul to the devil, it's a promise that he will not forget. Sometimes we do crazy things in the name of love; in this case a brothers love, but in the end the price needs to be paid. Excellent read. Thanks for sharing.

Scary and well written. The idea of the Colt that vibrates is clever and moves the story along.

I wish the boy had shot faster. :)

Oh, this is such a sorrowful story! I pictured the scene easily with your vivid description. I had a bit of difficulty understanding that the Hunter was speaking to his gun in the beginning, but it made sense as I read on. Best of luck in this contest with this very creative and unusual tale.

While this was a good story. A scary story and yet something that no doubt is very real in our world today. Telling of dope, deception and death. It's a story to make one really think.

This is an excellent story. Not my cup of tea usually but, you have made it compelling with stirring imagery and writing. I see in your notes that you may not be exactly keen on the subject matter. But, I am sure I speak for many when I say I would dearly hope for more of this. well done to say the least. mike

Creepy? Scary? Haunting? I don't know the right word for this. It certainly was a captivating read. I wasn't sure what I had gotten into, but I had to keep going.

One little grammar point--I think you mean "its wants" in this sentence:

The evil weapon couldn't speak but it did communicate it wants, and the hunter waited for its signal.

Could become a series or a novel. Excellent story.
