What happens in our lives does not reside in a deck of cards, it lies in the hands and province of God who never leave anything to chance. May you week be blessed with good things.

Thank you Pat. That is what I always believed too, but somethings came out that couldn't have been a coincidence. I'm sure evil angels know a lot more than we do. I would not go back to one again because I don't think the source of her information was from God.

It is wise not to go to the card readers.

Creepy to contemplate--seems much is general and can apply to everyone depending on interpretation--still, disconcerting. Intriguing chapter--food for thought!

Thanks Liz, I thought it was pretty creepy too. I wouldn't do it again. I'd rather not know. There are too many unexplained things that make me a little uneasy.

An interesting and gripping tale of telling fortunes - some people do have a gift for this sort of activity - I guess part of us ends up believing what we have been told - an enjoyable read

Thank you Zanya. I really didn't believe I'd have another child but I did, ten years behind the rest. LOL

This is an interesting chapter, Beth. You were brave. I don't think I could get my fortune read. It would haunt me forever, lol. Well written.

I found a few little typos though:

"I'm sure there are (a) lot of new men in your future,"
"Some of what she said (was) eeriely(eerily) accurate,"
"Sometime(s) she does it for a piece of clothing or a purse."
"a couple of stuffed chars(chairs)."

Thank you Judy, I appreciate the review and I'm glad you found those typos. I've had 39 reviews. I amazed it went that long without someone pointing them out.

You?re welcome, Beth. I?m so far behind in reviewing I?ve had to just delete some. I?m surprised no one else had mentioned your typos, but I guess many just focus on the story, not the writing. Glad I could help.

Hello BethShelby hope you're having a fantastic Friday and that this finds you well. I enjoyed this chapter of your book, it was nicely written. I have always wondered and been curious about getting my palm read. I don't know if I even believe in that stuff, I guess that's why I haven't done it, besides I don't have money to waste. good job and have a great day!

Thank for the great review. I don't want to believe the cards are going to tell me my future, but it was so accurate it was scary. The lady did claim to know anything except she how to read the cards. I wouldn't do it again. I don't want to know. You have a good rest of the day, too.

I've never consulted tarot card readers. But your writing skills even makes that sound exciting. Nice Write. Don't forget to stop by to talk. And Stay Connected

This was a great story. I have my doubts on card reading. However, there are many things in this world that happen, and sometimes it is hard to explain. You need to correct the word Carolyn. Sometime she does it for a piece of clothing or a purse. Carloyn says she never charges over five dollars. Let's go with her. It'll be something different to do." You have a great story. I enjoyed reading your post.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. Thank for pointing out the name misspelling. The girl's name was actually Carol. I had changed it for the story, but I see I went back to the actual name in one spot and misspelled Carolyn in another.

I remember this part from your other book. I liked how you wove in the thoughts and dialogue in this version. I agree with you that it's not for us to know our future and we should always trust God. The Bible does speak against divination but it also has the High Priest use the Urim and Thumim.
One suggestion:
sat on the swing shelling butterbeans. (comma after 'swing') otherwise it's the swing that's shelling and I couldn't make sense of it. ð???

Thank Helen. I never quite understood why the priest used those. I guess it might be the way God used to communicate with them. I fixed the sentence so it would make more sense.

You did a good job with your story, Beth. I wouldn't have wanted to go either--even with the other ladies. Your description of the place y'all went to for the card reading was great. The results of the readings was, too. Your words are well organized with great imagery. Your married life has given you many stories to write about.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Thank you Jan. I really appreciate the review and comments. I wouldn't go again. I rather wait and see what happens that to have to worry about it ahead of time, if I believed it might actually happen.

I did it once on a whim with another girlfriend. I thought it was ridiculous until she mentioned I'd just lost a son and we'd be going on a vacation o help get through the loss. She also said we'd be involved in an accident, but it wouldn't be our car..... it wasn't. It was my brother's vehicle traveling directly behind us with my daughter and his two daughters. A woman made a u-turn and totaled his car. Everyone was safe.

I too figured that was just too much information and I'd just let things happen. Probably a good thing, because if I'd have known all the black clouds hanging over my family.... I'd have bolted to no-man's land. LOL

Hugs, Carol

Thank you Carol. I enjoyed your comments. My cousin had someone do hers and they refused to tell her because they said it was too bad. She hasn't had a terrible life but spent it waiting for that horrible thing to happen. I think we don't need to know.
