Moving story! You kept my attention from beginning 'till the end. Just one question: In the author's note it says, "Author's own picture is used" as well as "Photo courtesy of Google images". I presume it is a picture of you, though, as the print on the dress looks like it could be kittens. Very touching!

Thanks for picking up the conflicting picture reference. I did change from a Google image to a personal image. I t seems I forgot to remove the Google tag. Thanks agin for that reminder.

Hi there...This font is hard to read, I do like it, but...I guess I'm getting old. My eyes don't work like they used to, lol! I really enjoyed this. It's almost a Haibun. Very nice work. AND true facts of life here too. :) A.

This is such a heart wrenching story about a lonely little girl from a dysfunctional family. The Mother tried, but the dress turned out a mess, but thank God the child was oblivious to all that. She was just so elated to get some much needed attention from her mother. Great job! Sara :)

Your poem brought back bittersweet memories: my mother was a seamstress and taught me that darts are very important for proper fit. Incidentally, she also believed children should be seen but not heard. (I believe "bee's" lost its apostrophe in the second paragraph.) Your storytelling is compelling and the short poem is a fitting conclusion. Cheers- Joan

This was an interesting story to read. The sewing abilities of the mother sound similar to my own...I must be the only person on God's earth who has sewed a curtain into a cylinder...
