I enjoyed the essence of this work, Al (I think you posted a similar piece already). A good reminder to us to be careful of what we say (and, of course, what we read). Some repetition here which could do with some judicious trimming.

Five again. I like the idea of comparing the use of words to both make and stop war. I spent a lot of my life as a war correspondent and always gave both sides of the argument. One line you wrote
'Even you may suffer warlike consequences when others use words foolishly.'
sums up a lot of my life perfectly. In Vietnam I broke my back in a chopper crash when advised wrongly to take a dangerous flight, and in N.Ireland I was shot in an ambush when warned not to go to a certain area because I was catholic, but took no notice. Yes words are powerful, but oh dear , how we despise them at times. Cheers. Anton

These are more wise words, and the ones I like the most are "courtesy costs nothing but buys everything." I love the message and the play on words. :)

The scripture teaches that war begins in the heart of man and that indeed, every man is born in sin, actually at war with God.

That is why Christ said that all men "must be born again" which gives them a new heart that is open to the Word of God.

This spiritual transformation enables all who experience it to hear God's voice in His book and to respond to it.

The last war will occur when Christ sets up His kingdom on earth and destroys the wicked. Until the, Jesus said that "wars and rumors of war" would characterize the last days before He comes. God bless you ...

This article is a call for world peace in a very unusual way. Courtesy costs nothing but buys everything, seems out of place in this article. Your notes are very condescending to the writers on this site. Because you are explaining simple words that every writer knows the meanings of. Also, you once again are telling people how to review your writing. This tells me that you really don't want to hear what others may think about your views. The only way anyone can learn and educate themselves in this world is by listening to others view points. I think you need to stop telling people how to review. That is not what this site is all about. This is a learning site where people post their pieces and then gain from the responses they get. Otherwise, why would one be on this site, if you're not willing to learn from the thoughts of others. There's never been a cowboy that's never been thrown. There's never been a horse that hasn't been rode...

As a reviewer my freedom to express my true opinions had been highjacked by the author's copious notes. In that I take offense because the notes imply that the work cannot stand scrutiny on its own merits of which it has many pearls of wisdom, for ex:
"Devils or fools never listen... or divine words."
BUT: "Courtesy costs nothing but buys everything." This is taken from the works of Ali Ibne Abu Talib and should have been addressed as such.

Another extremely written story from your pen. Even though it is short. You have captured the essence and expounded it throughout your story. Giving each and every word so much power.

This thought-provoking piece is like a list of maxims on the topic of the power of words. I especially like the one about courtesy. I've heard basically the same said of a smile. Good job

This is a very interesting piece. Very well written. I like the strong and deep message. This is a good reminder of how important words are. If spoken kindly, most often ideas will be accepted; if spoken harshly, ideas will be rejected. Diplomacy is a very important example about words. I like it!

Understanding that you did not suggest to teach, suggest, advise or challenge wisdom, you did just that. In this short work you challenged the reader to give pause to words used or suffer the result- be it individuals or Nations, good advice for all, regardless of station.

I enjoyed the flow and the rhythm of your message. Thank you.
