You show an abundance of empathy for Jesus' plight, this brings your reader closer to understanding the severity of his suffering and also the contrast of his bright love. I was moved by 'then closed His eyes-- and gave up the ghost...' for this described something I have never really understood before. Every day we are learning new lessons in faith and understanding, your poem helped me today so many thanks. invisible.touch x

All the way through tears and love a six but should be 100. this is God's doing and I so need it once in a while as does everyone else. I wrote Three Rusty Nails from the storekeepers view, but it was not my writing ...It was Gods and A lot of things I write are from HIm as is this. I am sorry for the typing but it is so hared to type and cry at the same time.

No apologies needed, my dear Barbara, I cried as I wrote it at three am this morning, so I know how difficult it can be.
Thanks for the wonderful review, my friend. I do appreciate it!

The poem would make an excellent Easter poem. Though many men die. The main difference is that Jesus comes back to life and then ascends to heaven. One more stanza would be nice.

Also, there are a few other little small edits that I have listed below.

Man kind is one word mankind
That second line might need some work. Mankind's sins becomes the subject and so it almost reads that mankind's sins were spat on, ridiculed...

The die were cast.
The word die is singular, so it should be either:
The dice were cast.
or
The die was cast.

I did "enjoy" this poem. Enjoy isn't really the right word because it describes such a painful experience. However, I think it was well-described with a very good message.

My Brother Dean,
This has got to be the best poem about the passion of Jesus I have ever read in my 75 years of living!

You have written a classic in my opinion. Tell your Pastor Friend thank you for me for urging you to write this heart touching poem.

Your Brother in Christ, Jerry

THE TRIAL OF ALL
TRIALS
JOHN 18

BEFORE THE GOVERNOR STANDS A MAN
A MAN HUMBLE AND MEEK,
BROUGHT TO THE JUDGMENT COURT
HIS DEATH, HIS ENEMIES DID SEEK.

HE STANDS CONDEMNED,
WITHOUT A LEGAL ADVISER,
THOSE WHO WITNESSED AGAINST HIM,
HAVE BEEN PURCHASED, AS PROFESSIONAL LIARS.

THERE HE STANDS, WITH HANDS BOUND,
BROUGHT BY SOLDERS INTO THE JUDGMENT
court

THE JUDGE BEGINS HIS QUESTIONING,
QUESTIONS OF THE SELF-CONDEMNING SORT.

THE PRISONER STANDS SILENT.
WITH A THREAT, THE JUDGE DEMANDS
HE ANSWER THE ACCUSATIONS.
HIS ANSWER ANGERS HIS ENEMIES,
WHO SPIT ON HIM AND SLAP HIM
WITH OPEN HANDS.

THEY FIND IN HIM NO FAULT AT ALL,
YET CONDEMN HIM TO DIE.
FALSELY, THEY ACCUSE HIM OF BLASPHEMY,
AND MAKE PLANS, HIM TO CRUCIFY.

THE DISHONORABLE JUDGE, PILOT
HAD HIM SCOURGED, THEN STOOD BY
AS CRUEL MEN, STRUCK HIM AND CURSED HIM
BUT THROUGH IT ALL, HE DID NOT FOR MERCY CRY.

OH, HOW WICKED THE HUMAN HEART,
SO CALLOUSED AND HARDENED OF CONSCIENCE,
THAT MEN COULD CONDEMN A MAN TO DIE,
THOUGH THERE WAS AGAINST HIM NO EVIDENCE.

THEY RELEASED A MURDERER,
AS A CUSTOM WAS BACK THEN.
THE JEWS CRIED "NOT JESUS !
LET THE OTHER MAN GO !"
BARABBAS WAS HIS NAME.

SO CAME THE END OF A 'KANGAROO' TRIAL,
THE INNOCENT, HARMLESS ONE,
CONDEMNED TO DIE, A TORTUROUS DEATH.
LITTLE WAS IT KNOWN, HE VOLUNTARILY
DIED FOR THE SINS OF EVERY MOTHER AND
DAUGHTER, FATHER AND SON.

This is absolutely fantastic, yet again. I am sorry, but I seem to have run out of six star ratings. I must have used them up on you already. I am going to have to be more discerning in future. I am so glad that I chose to become a fan of yours. This is truly inspirational faith writing.

10 things. First. I am crying. This is beyond wonderful. Second I have goosebumps everywhere. I don't have 6 stars but the MOMENT I get them back my priority is to change this rating. I am so blessed to have read this and I want to read it everyday. It is so heart breaking. Spirit filled. Oh I could feel the spirit hiding in this work as I read it. Its beautiful Dean. I mean...... He dipped the tip of his finger in this ink. How can I send this and the sound and all to my grandfather?? He would LOVE to be apart of this piece..Apryle

Thank you so much, Apryle, I am honored that you would like to send it to your grandfather. If he has an email address, you can go to the poem, copy the link, then paste it into an email message. He can then copy the link and paste it into his browser, or, depending on which email provider he uses, he may be able to click on the link directly which will redirect him to it. The fact that you enjoyed it is worth far more to me than any six star ratings, my dear friend, but thank you!

A powerful piece of poetry. You paint vivid images with word choice and meter. The rhymes are very natural and unforced. The picture is an amazing piece of artwork to support the message. The story is well told and culminates gracefully to the challenge we face in the last stanza. I've really liked other pieces you've written, but I really have to just Wow! on this one.
