Awesome! Another Tuscan Strombata - just without the closing couplet. I really like the sentiment you present. Freedom is NOT free and I wish there was a way without causing pain that our fellow countryman could understand how precious this gift really is.

A beautiful, lyrically strident piece.
Never heard of a Tuscan Strombata before - sounds prettily exotic!
Love the liberal sprinkling of alliteration.
Another wonderful creation from the facile hand of the word weaver.
Well done, Tom! :)

How true, freedom IS NOT free, someone paid so we could picnic! I find it odd that veterans do not get veterans day off...? Thank you so much for choosing my art, it means a lot. Donkeyoatey

Comment from country ranch writer
SOME PEOPLE ONLY THINK OF THEMSELVES ON DAYS LIKE THOSE LISTED ABOVE THEY FORGET WHAT FREEDOM IS ALL ABOUT AND THEY WONDER WHY THE COUNTRY IS IN SUCH A MESS! ALL THEY THINK ABOUT IS HAVING A PARTY AND GETTING DRUNK AND THEY COULDN'T TELL YOU THEY ARE CELEBRATING EXCEPT THAT THEY HAVE THE DAY OFF.

Comment from Gungalo
We much too often take these things for granted,
Forgetting how dear freedom's seeds were planted.
Tom this is a great Tuscan Strombata and a wonderful example for those who follow. We have so much to be happy over and this should tell those who don't know.
