well girl, this is beautiful in its simplicity and sincerity. You have spoken my words and sometimes the lesser said, the better. A very touching poem indeed, warmly Indie xx

Sorry I'm late Jaq, I'm in major catch-up. My heart is with you mate, feeling lost in the madding crowd is an easy thing to fall into and not an easy place to escape from. You express that sentiment very well and I can only hope that you maintain your optimism that all will ultimately turn out for the better. My prayers are with you. Maintain hope, it's a good thing, maybe the best of things as Tim Robbins said in Shawshank Redemption. Love'n'Peace, Garth

Hi Jaq,

Well it's a great poem so a great wake up in my mind.:)
It's quite thought provoking and pulls at me too.
I've read it a few times, once of those works you read and sit back and ponder, then read again. Excellent post.

Thanks for sharing.
Maureen

Very deep and profound quandry pose here. Perhaps
many of us wake up with this kind of quesion on
our mind, and good to take a pause and think about.

Only one suggestion, the font text could be lighter
color...on such deep gray backgrund, current font is
very hard to see and read. Just a suggestion.
Thanks for sharing..

Hello Jaq Cee,

You've penned a poem and thoughts that many of us have from day to day. Join the club of wondering why. Perhaps, that's why we write poetry.

Great free verse. I especially liked:

Lost in a world
of wondering--

Why?

(I think if we turn the TV off, we'll all stop wondering why just a wee bit.)

Good commentary.

This has a sad quality to it that just seems to pull at my heart strings. It is simple and easy to understand, I think. I like the short and sweet poems best. I think you captured a wonderful moment and I am curious about it all. Great picture to go with it :)

Very expressive, dear JC. Such a mood is not fun to experience but it can be a blessing in disguise, because it hints of a longing for something MORE...something spiritual...that perpetual deep philosophical question of WHY...why existence? So few actually contemplate this. Those who do might experience a crisis or a cathartic depth of despair that ultimately leads to light.

It's like a spring that is depressed to the ground, and when it let's go, it shoots up that much more swiftly to the sky.

Excellent free verse expression of intense emotion with a presentation that matches the mood well. Excellent artwork choice to enhance the tone and tenor of your theme. I was almost going to suggest a white font color because it would stand out more easily to read...however, the black font suits the tone better.

Love and light, rd

Blessings, rd

Ahhhhhh rd, this really means a lot to me. I am indeed re-thinking life and trying to see where I am headed. I need to recognise my 'spiritual journey'. It seems to elude me for now.

    Thanks so much, Jaq xxx

Free verse is DEFINATELY your thing, Jaq.

It allows you to express without worrying about structure, rhyme, meter, and you do it extremely well nere.

I'm basically a rhymer and ususually prefer rhyed.metered/structured stuff, but I do sometimes write free and appreciate reading it when it's done well, especially with occasional rhyme.

You keep the words to a min rather than dilute your feelings with a load of boring waffle.

Your message is sad in that you feel days rolling into one with nothing special or romantic going on, and your 'y' rhymes are spot on and apt.

I'm certain things will turn round for you!

Thanks for the read, Ray x
