I love your write on the perfect day.
And, I do agree:
now, taste-buds tingle
with a mingling of cranberry goat cheese
a perfect buttery avocado
fresh picked from my kind neighbor's tree,
warm new bread, and
a glass of red ...
flavors laze and tease my tongue
as I lift pen to ruffled pad of yellow paper
in the last savored shaft of this day's light
glowing gold through my afternoon window
captive beam dances my words straight to God -
and
you
are
here
what more could I need, my love?
Yes, what more could you need.
Hugs d

wow, d. that's so sweet of you to go back to my portfolio and find this one. I actually loved it, but never promoted it. It was for a competition, so "blind" - never enough $$! I'm so glad you found this one! :))S

Sounds like my kind of happy...cheese, wine and thee.
I guess there is nothing more I could ask for.
This flows very beautifully down the page and it is
very creative and artistic.
I love how the sweetness of your words sound so
very sincere.
What more can one ask for?
I doubt there is more to make one happy.
Good luck to you.

Nice job! I'm not familiar with this style but the way it flowed spoke to me and I felt their was an expression of love and appreciation for what was right in this woman's present surroundings and she needed no more. I enjoyed it a lot. Lovely photo as well.

Thank you Patricia - this is simply free verse, with a lot of alliteration and internal rhyming, and is written to be performed/ read aloud. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! :)

This is well done. The free verse flows well and the imagery is great. You describe a case of "perfect' happiness here...even the chair. Great job!

They don't make chairs like this anymore
embracing me in sunlight
softly, sinking down
sighing as day's frowns subside
Gorgeous!
Thank you for sharing!

Definitely a happy poem. I read it, and it made me feel warm. The combination of red and bread was really good to read, and the image of avocados and cranberry goat cheese, for some reason, was colorful.
Thank you- this was a fun read.
