I enjoyed reading this piece. It took me back to times long, long ago. When I was a little girl I loved our trips to the ocean. The picture is wonderful. Good job and congratulations.

Your nature poem of sun and fun is beautiful. It flows well and your artwork choice was the right one for your poem.

Bless you, Erick ... I'm so glad you caught this one - it captures a very dear memory for me. (We won't say how MANY years ago!) And bless you doubly for your lovely 'six' - goes so nicely with morning coffee.
Hugs, as always,
Sharyn :)

This poem talked of such freedom and abandon. I wonder if the sea has this euphoric effect on one. The visuals were great as the child with the curly hair danced on the beach.
Lovely picture rounded your work off well. Well done. luv jada

Hi visionary1234,
Easy to see why this one is a contest winner. Art is awesome and you have expressed such joy at seeing a child dancing with shadows. I can tell this comes from the heart written beautifully in this free verse. Congrats and thank you so much for sharing.

"God's golden shells", "bubbling blue tide", "high cry of gulls"- some superb imagery pertaining to the central idea in the poem..
Great alliteration too:'sleepy soft sand,
sighing in the sun', 'bubbling blue'.
Onomatopoeic words:
"singing
in
the
spiral
of
the
leaves"
Overall, a great poetic effect
Cheers

Thank you so much, Ruby, for coming to my beach! And, of course, for reading my poem, AND giving me a wonderful, and greatly appreciated, '6'!
Blessings,

visionary1234:
What a happy poem. No wonder it is the winner of
the Happy Poem Contest. I used to have an English
Shepherd who would chase his shadow - too bad my
family could not afford a movie camera back then.
This poem just made me smile all over.
thanks for sharing

jan

so "happy" you enjoyed this one, too, Jan ... I've always been lucky enough to live near the ocean, so beaches have been part of our lives - this was a special day - which I'll always remember :) Sharyn
