You have woven a wonderful taste of Irish history and culture into this poem Jaq. A beautiful country plagued with religious and political issues. This has a personal resonance with me, as my father is from Ireland.

Great poem Jaq but I feel I cannot comment too much on the Protestant-Catholic issue as we know they both have atrocities they have to own up to. As for Irish spreading wide and far, that is still happening not for wearing green, but for the wastefulness of their government (luckily ours had enough money in the bank). Now the young Irish are spreading far and wide again as they have done many many times since the potato famine. It's a shame but Ireland hasn't much to offer (money wise) it's young people, we haven't much more but at least we are not thousands of miles away from their beautiful home and they can come here anytime, passport free.

Great poem Jaq but I feel I cannot comment too much on the Protestant-Catholic issue as we know they both have atrocities they have to own up to. Hello Jaq Cee. Enjoyed your poem. It has a solid historical background involving the divide between protestants and catholics. I remember seeing the orange roofs of homes. From a Spanish cultural perspective, people would have interpreted a people using a common color to paint thier roof as a way to ward off the angel of death or something like that. In addition to your poem, I really enjoyed your choice of words for the poem. Great rhythm. Good luck and cheers.

It smoothly flows and paints the canvas of remembrance in a lovely cadence, supported with superb artwork. I often wonder what the outcome would have been, if the Irish had been as well armed, financed, and organized in their rebellion as the Scotts were.
