Warning a child not to be disappointed is both a thankless and futile task. I don't see that you had much choice--not I expect that helps much. There is no hope his mother will ever turn it around, so sooner he understand that, the sooner he'll be able to begin adjusting to his particular reality. I don't envy you.

Loving him wasn't good enough, Lee. I don't even like children, but I can't make anything better and no one wants to treat him like a human being. I want to crawl into a cave and it wasn't my fault.

Wow very good. Sounds like a true event. The web people weave and get away with. In all this the innocent suffer. A story with lots of twists and deceit.

This isn't fiction. I sm exploiting every avenue available to me to resolve my grandson's trauma at being abandoned and living in need, believing the one who couldn't be bothered is more important than the ones who cleaned up his vomit. If you can help, pleae do.
