I like your Halloween poem, Mystery Poet. You chose a nice picture to compliment.
I especially like,
"warty witches"
It makes you wonder about the ingredients in that boiling cauldron. Methinks it would be rather scary to come upon three old hags like this, cooking over an open fire in the woods. Who could possibly be afraid of three old women? But I'd be running like a flash!
Good Luck in the contest!

You wouldn't be Irish, by chance, or is it you
have the same name as a witch? Which is it?
This is very cute and I enjoyed the context
of this Halloween ditty.
You did a great job and have a winning entry.
Lots of luck.

I am Scottish Marie and my surname is Carlin. Here is one excerpt from Tam O' Shanter where it's mentiond "But little wist she Maggie's mettle - Ae spring brought off her master hale, But left behind her ain gray tail; The carlin claught her by the rump, And left poor Maggie scarce a stump.

Poet,
Your bitchy, I mean witchy 5-7-5 poem is wonderfully written with creepy imagery.
The art work is wicked awesome you used of the cartoon witches.
You used excellent alliterstion with the H & W words.
Your used very fine metaphor: "cauldron of fright."
I enjoyed all three lines:
hear the keening wails
of hungry warty witches
round cauldron of fright
I wish you good luck in the contest.
Would I recommend your 5-7-5 poem to other reviewers?
Yes, I would.
Missy.

Great picture to help with the imagery. I'm not a huge fan of haiku, but did find this one to have the right wording witht he picture

This time of the year, my mind turns to the witches in Shakespeare's McBeth. This is a very well written short poem. Good luck in your contest.
