Thank you so much for your review and for making this strictly about the writing. I so appreciate that. Thank you again.

I certainly couldn't disagree more with your support of the current president for another term, but I've got to save Bravo and Six Stars for your presentation. Your presentation is very orderly and precise, and you use the
words of FDR to great effect. You make an appeal to women, whom the Obama campaign has tried to frighten into supporting him, and do a good job of it. You cover very well all the things the Democratic campaign has been about. Your stellar presentation will not get me to change my mind about the course we're on. Imagine this: France's new President Hollande wants a 75% tax on the country's wealthiest. How many people do you think would remain there, and if they do, could they still afford to pay at the 75% rate? judiverse

I so appreciate your review and generous rating. I am perfectly aware that when it comes to politics and religion, people have very strong person convictions and that is as it should be. I would never think of trying to change another person's point of view. Thank you, again, so much for basing your review on the construct of the piece.

A well written political statement. You did a very good job of stating your position without anger, which not many people can accomplish. I am a polar opposite from your views, and find a political discussion interesting, but this is a writing forum, not a political one, and at the end of the day we're here for the same purpose and respect your ability to express yourself. Good job.

I'd forgotten what wonderful words Roosevelt had spoken - thank you for your exhaustive, and inspiring, quotes. This one in particular:
Freedom means the supremacy of human rights everywhere
thank you!

I am glad you liked the piece. Yes, it is rather long, but once I get going on certain subjects it is hard for me to stop. I appreciate your review very much.

I agree with you, change a leader everytime something goes wrong will not help the nation. The parties don't work together anymore, like they are are war with one another. Great story, interesting things were said. Good luck.

I love your positive optimism. But to me all politics is manipulation of the many by the few. The moral drives, standards and motives rest in the hands of those least aware. They might be called the third sector; the largest, faceless masses which does not include the government or the commercial center. Those of the third sector are hardly aware of their power. Their instinctive drive is governed by a battered, shabby moral attitude. Sometimes they rise to be a revolutionary force. To my mind the responsibilities of the U.S. president is two fold. The domestic scene and the foreign policy. After all America rules the world and are therefore its guardians. Obama is not naive, he is neglectful of his world wide responsibilities. When it comes to the crunch, we will see if he rises to the occasion. As for the domestic scene, I hope he is competent, practically speaking. That is the least you can expect from him. As for politics; Nehru, President of India after Ghandi; said that politics is the lowest expression of human endeavor. Nixon's wife was asked if her husband was happy in his job. She answered, the only people who would choose to be president are fools or crooks and
"my husband is no fool." I like your optimism but I can't help thinking of Prof. Eric Fromm's statement that our civilization is a total failure and hasn't advanced since 2,000 B. C. With respect. -Ekim77

Thank you for taking time to review this piece. I also appreciate you sharing your thoughts on the subject. I am inclined to agree with Nehru re: politics being the lowest expression of human endeavor. Not a career path I would ever seek out. However, I do find Eric Fromm's statement more than a little depressing and futile. I am not quite ready to write all of humanity off just yet. Thanks again, I enjoyed reading your comments.

I don't agree with you when it comes to Obama but I am not going to judge you because we all have free choice. I really think that we don't have any real good choices any more as they are all evil and corrupt. But I intend to vote for the one that is the least evil if there is one. Good read, good job and keep on writing.
