I love the story. Americans are short sighted. They blame all the problems on the present politicians. It took years to get where we are today. Government has become a separate detached part of our country. We do need to get it together. Great work.

I wonder when was the last time you voted Republican for any candidate. Although I disagree that Obama is better for women or our country,nor do I see any seeds of an improved economy. The contest says to look at these entries for the way the author expresses their choice, the quality of the writing. You speak your view very well. You support your view well. Though, I will say, there are a few choice words about the "other side" that can come across offensive because there is no need to insult when comparing. Personally, I dislike when people generalize another group of people as all the same. It's not fair for any of us not to be considered as the individuals we are, and the unique way that we come to our opinions on things. I am not in agreement with the administrations policies at all. BUT, I can review your work fairly and with respect. You have a voice and are entitled to it. Well said point of view.
One thing that came to mind that I will share. A flood of women have called Planned Parenthood offices about the mammogram screening Obama mentioned they provide in the debate and in several other speeches, and Planned Parenthood said they do not provide that service. Also Planned Parenthood is known to have started, and continues to locate its offices in low income areas, to target killing Black babies. This is not acceptable to me as a minority and a woman. Just making a statement of how that part of your work affected my thoughts. Thanks for being brave to share. Best of luck in the contest. G-d bless! ~Yona

Thank you Mark! My first choice was Hillary too. I have never cared for Mitt Romney, but especially now since he represents a party that has swung way to the right. I am with you; anything better than Mitt and his party. Thank you again.

right on my friend, for people who bashed the Clintons look at what Bush did to us..and Obama is swimming upstream for some sense of repair..

This is a very well written piece expressing your views on Obama, the direction of his leadership of this country and his performance as the President of the United States. I see nothing of Harry Truman or F.D.R. in the man. To me he bobs and weaves and blames everyone else, but himself. Even the Secretary of State had to step up and take his heat for not protecting an ambassador who was practically without security, until last night on TV, he admitted that he, like Truman, accepted the fact that the buck stopped at his desk,and not behind the skirt of Clinton. o, wse are different ends of the pole when considering the worth of Obama, but your work is very well written. I will respect your work and your opinion. That is America.

Obama has made it clear that he can "change horses in mid-stream" when it comes to his policy and promises, but still people will overlook that because he is so charismatic.
Also, what he inherited is more like a Democratic mess than a Republican one, after all, they have had a Senate majority for six years now, but some people never tire of blaming the previous administration for all our ills. ;) Chrisfiore

You are so right, Edward. Thanks for reading this piece. Because it is a polarizing topic I have been afraid to open up reviews. Wouldn't want to find that someone put a hit out on me! Politics and religion are third rails when it comes to stating one's opinion publicly. And I am a devote coward. So far so good - just respectful disagreements.
