I often wonder how my children survived me. They are both wonderful mothers to my three grandchildren. I made many mistakes and am still paying for them. I know they love me but still need time to deal with the weak person I was when they needed someone with strength. This is a marvelous story and one that touched me deeply. Bless you, your son, and beautiful grandchildren.

Greetings SE,

Ain't parenting a blast?

I have often reflected on my mistakes and shortcomings, then marveled at the ability of my children to overcome them.

They have grown to be responsible parents in spite of me. ;)

Those are my EXACT words. Becoming a grandparent was a fictional vision I had that I would be doing crafts with perfect cherubs and sneaking them chocolate bars to them while their PARENTS pretended not to notice. Instead I will be attending a 'Meet the Teacher' night on Wednesday and there is no happily after painting in sight just yet. Thanks for the dazzling bouquet of stars.

There's no question who the Hero of Heroes is in your life, Ingrid. And there's no question as to why. You have a remarkable son. Beautifully written. :) nancy

Days move by at a snail's pace and seasons gallop by as the years tumble around us. It's hard to believe it's been three years since Michael changed the locks on his doors. Thanks for indulging me by reading another personal write.

Hello Ingrid. I am in awe of your son, and your ability to so aptly describe these things that life has handed you, and he. VERY good...very sad, yet...happy. I send all my best wishes to you...Michael, and the children too. hugs, Susan

Ingrid, You have an amazing talent for telling a story and describing everything you write in bright flaming color, referencing the one bastard monster. The continuation of the story was beautiful and written with love from within your soul. Just to magnificent for words. Carole

I spent a day with an evolving child. Aiden has had to live within his innocence, his rage and ignorance. No one can explain to a boy why his mother abandoned him, walked away and even given a title, a sociopath, can't possibly compensate for that child's loss. I never knew I was capable of such enduring compassion nor endurance, but the stars belong to Michael. On his behalf, I thank you.
