This is very useful information. Sometimes just knowing that there are a lot of people praying for you does make a difference. I have copied this contact info. Thanks for sharing.

You're welcome, RightPics. Silent Unity has been my mainstay whenever I needed help for myself or another.

Thanks for sharing. Prayer is so helpful and is so important for all of us. You give us an option of asking for help in today's world.

Thank you. That's exactly what it is. An option. I'm glad you recognized that it is not a persuasive essay.

A very informative piece. I am amazed that such places exist, in UK, I do not know of any such places. It sounds tranquil and a lovely place that does work miracles through the power of prayer.
My only concern is that the people that say "yes" and give love offerings, are not being duped in anyway. Please forgive my negativity.
it is a very interesting piece and well written.

The love offering is optional. I suspect people donate only when they see that the continuous praying is working in their lives. It's always has for me.

This is a very informative piece and brings to mind the hope for possibilities again after requesting prayer. Isn't prayer just a form of positive thinking? Ginger

I believe you have something there, Ginger. Thanks for the positive review. LOL

This may sound odd, but lately my life has jumped on the fastlane of good luck. I feel like I've been on that prayer list. My sis asked me yesterday, was my angel because believe it or not, I've been able to pull wishes out of my ass lately. I never hestitated because I've long thought my Maternal Grandma protects me. Her words are the words that always ring in my ears. And, she always was fiercefully protective of me all of my life. She'd shit if she knew I was thin! Ginger

We make our own luck, Ginger, through positive thinking-- well, having an angel definitely helps. Thanks for sharing.

Shari, I didn't even know such a thing existed. You hav done your research on this I can tell. It is packed with factual data names and events. I am assuming it is a tool free number. I'm Catholic but I will put this number in my phone anyway. As prayer is prayer no matter who it is coming from. Well done on this insightful piece. Take care Adam:)

It is a free call and it's non-denominalization. (sp.wrong, I know. Although I'm Episcopalian, my Mom introduced me to Silent Unity over forty years ago. Their monthly publication Daily Word with its wisdom for each day helped me survive the high school insecurities.

I had never heard of this organization before. Your description was clear and you made your point in a straight-forward, easily understood manner. I'm sure many people here will take advantage of this information and will have you to thank for it.

they purchased (fifty-eight) acres - all numbers under 100 should be spelled out, except dates

Thanks purrfect. I hope it helps those in need. I originally spelled it out, then for some reason changed it. Thanks for the reminder.

I wrote down the number, you never know what may happen tomorrow.

Shari, this is a wonderfully informative and uplifting piece that you presented in a non-didactic way. I'm very familiar with Unity, having gone to services and classes at the Houston church. Oh, that's one thing you could add - that the Unity Church of Christianity is located all over the U.S. I think you said in your profile that you live in Florida. I'm assuming there would be at least one Unity church in that state and would be interested in your feedback on this. One more thing, "The Story of Unity" by James Dillet Freeman really expands on your essay. (I've got it in my home library.) Big Hug, Lou

Yes, he's the director. There's a Unity church a half hour from me. I'll add your note. Thanks.

Hmm, wonder if this would work for improving my writing. No, just kidding. This is so cool. I picked up a Unity book at a garage sale a few years ago, I think it was published in the 40's, which was realy fascinateing and I had intended to reserch it more, but of course got busy with other things and never looked further into it. Thanks no your great article, that includes the 1-800 number I can. Great article.

Hope you never have to use it except to give thanks, That's a prayer too. Interesting about the book. I started reading their monthly publication Daily Word in the fifties. Got me the horrors of high school.

After my reply to your post, I got curious and excavated the little book form the refuge site in the spare bedroom. My mistake it was published in 1965, the title is Life Is For Living.

Wow, the Silent Unity Ministry has been around for a century. That's quite a feat for any organization.
You've stated very well through personal experience the power of prayer and told us how to contact them.
I'm sure many will.
You have presented this clearly and concisely. It's not preachy, just encouraging for those needing courage though group prayer. We never know when it may be our choice. Thank you for sharing with your FS friends.
:)

Thanks for your remark that it's not preachy. One reviewer called it a persuasive essay. I told her no way, did I intend to force my views on others.

A great piece my dear love. I have so much more to pray about. I will explain when I know a little more. They are going to do a ultra-sound of her pelvis. Her estrogen is very high and her Testosterone very low. A sign of Uterine cancer. We will see. I will writ more later my loving wife. Thank you for this wonderful article.

Oh no! Well, call the number for SU to pray for courage to face this. My sister was afraid she at one time she might have this.

I will, I am taking her to the pastor at 3pm today.
