Hello Robina
You definitely know how to express your self and get you message across of the dismay going on this present day especially when you said so well-

Dream now of victory and of triumph,
dream about your nice ideas for peace
that never shall be achieved by blood,
just dream you'll get there now.
Don't think 'bout all those poor people,
how many women, how many children perished.
Just dream you will win this time

Gert

You have effectively expressed in your poem most everything I feel about what is wrong with the way my country is being run. I could give you more fuel for the fire, but it would not enhance this piece. Thank you. I adopt you as a true American, someone who believes in the precepts that founded this nation.

and so goes the world... when words become action from the faintest of voices we can hopefully begin to add with another voice and another and another... at which point we as individual can change the world if we take action on the words. good read. yours, diana

To robina1978,
A truly deep and powerful poem with the depth and volume that would make anyone think twice before carrying or using another weapon.
Your prudence and explicitness on the subject and your repetitious "Mister president, sleep well," shows great clarity and stalwartly.

Hello, Ine. I think being the supreme commander and leader of a nation of millions is a job I would not care to have. I do believe that most of our presidents, no matter their personal morals, do feel the weight of their responsibilities. I mean, just look at how they age during their time in office. I believe your heart is in the right place with this write. That you really do wonder why one person cannot just make the world right. But, sadly, it's not the way it is. I do applaud your writing of this poem because I know that you will receive some resistance to your ideas. Warm regards, Bev

Thanks for your kind and thoughtful review. Blessings and take care, Ine. I was inspired by the song of the singer. And don't mind some resistance.

This is lovely- a message wishing the president to sleep well. I am assuming from the picture that you mean the president of America. I wish we had a president in England. Prime Ministers are boring.

A great poem, a satire claim for peace. I think someone needs to talk about it and what better than the poets.
A war leaves no winners, only indelible scars.
Congratulations!

What a wonderful poem Robina, so true and I can only wish the President could read this letter. Very powerful read and War should not be an option any more! There must be another way to solve things.

Thank you so much for using my photo for this poem. This is a lovely poem. I think war is very silly. So many people die. This is a very nice free verse poem. Thanks again!

Very nice, Ine. I gotta give you a six. I haven't given any of them out for a long time.

I can't judge the poem itself but the intent. I hope Obama sees it.

I was in the US Army all through that war, spent two years there myself in the Infantry and Armored Cav. It was wasted years, wasted lives, wasted money,

The native civilians suffered the most, as did your country during the world wars. Millions dying for no real reason. It's even worse now, since we aren't even interested in ground conquered, only in body counts.

Millions of dollars to develop and fly a "drone" aircraft to fly over countries we're not even at war with, bombing entire city blocks to "maybe" kill one so-called "terrorist."

I used to take pride in my country following the rules and not invading others. At least not directly. Now, we changed and bomb anyone we damned well please.

Recently, a week or so ago, Obama signed a law authorizing the police to grab American citizens off the street and incarcerate them as "suspected" terrorists with no lawyers or even notifying relatives.

Keep it up, girl.
