I liked this chapter, but it gives off two vibes. You are hopeful that Anna is finally getting the support she needs to take charge of her life. But you also know that Bobby is dangerous and feel really anxious about his reaction.

I'm really loving that you're back to the suspense in this installment. I love not knowing what's going to happen, like will Bobby get out of jail? will he come after Anna? I'm looking forward to reading more Bravo! I'm anxious to read more.

Paul chewed on his lower lip. "Are you sure you want to file for divorce? Do you need more time to think about it?" --- The day before, Paul was going to go to the courthouse to see if Bobby filed for divorce and temporary custody. You haven't said whether he has or not. If so, she would need to file Responses. If not, then she needs to file ASAP. I always preferred being the Petitioner because your side always goes first at trial. For hearings while the divorce is pending, whoever requested the hearing goes first..
We're going to ask for child [custody and] support. I'm going to [delete try to - He won't "try," he will use Michael's records. He'll also use Anna's records since such abuse to Anna is evidence that Bobby presents a danger]use Michael's bruises and scratches that were documented while in the hospital[] as proof that Mr. Rodgers shouldn't have visitation rights. I doubt we get that, but we'll get restricted visitation. He'll need somebody with him the entire time he's with Michael." --- Bobby is going to spend time in prison because of the domestic violence against Anna and Michael, and because he violated the conditions of his release with the drunk-and-disorderly. The judge very well may order no visitation under those circumstances. After Bobby gets out of prison, he would have to spend some time to prove that he's alcohol free and has his anger under control before the judge would allow even supervised visitation. At such time that Bobby would request his visitation rights, the judge would probably order therapy for both Bobby and Michael, possibly with the same therapist (though not in joint sessions), or possibly with two separate therapists who would consult with each other. When both therapists felt they were each ready, the judge would probably order therapeutic visitation, which means with the therapist. If he successfully completed that, it would then go to supervised visitation with someone who is a visitation supervisor but not a therapist. Bobby would probably be ordered to pay for the therapy and the supervision. If the supervision was to be long-term, it could be done by a family member (more likely Anna's family because the concern would be that Bobby's family would be too willing to cover for him0 because it would be free. Your story probably isn't going that far in the future, though. An interesting possibility: In Arizona, we have a law that a prison sentence of more than two years can be grounds to terminate parental rights. If Anna got Bobby's rights terminated, Michael would then be available for Troy to adopt him and Bobby would be permanently cut out of their lives--legally anyway. This is the kind of information I tell my clients under these kinds of circumstances.
One other thing. The house that Anna and Bobby live in, are they renting or did Bobby inherit it? If he inherited it, then it's bobby's sole and separate property unless he added Anna's name to the deed. (His business is his sole and separate property too if he inherited it, which I seem to recall is the case, as long as he did not add Anna's name as an owner. Bobby is the type who would not do that.) In any case, when Anna comes out of hiding, she should move. If it's a rental lease, she can break it because of the circumstances. When she moves, she can get a protected address order from the court like I mentioned in an earlier chapter.

When lonely hearts meet, the ultimate goal is to find love and trust. Surge through them, and find the bond that will tie you together forver. Love is a many splendored thing, but it must be nurtured and enduring. Never give up on love until you find out that it has walked out on you! Personally, I don't do turnarounds, I just exit the relationship.Too much has been invested to find out that one of us is cheating. Some scenarios work out and some relationships need a brand new facelift.Someone said that love don't love nobody.I really never quite understood that

basically we are fine, but my hubby lost his job and we've beenbusy finding work, I work for the same company, and can't leave, need to pay bills. Stuff like that. It'll be fine. How are you feeling?

I am doing all right. I am disappointed because I had wanted my energy level to be back to normal before school started and I am down to the last three weeks and it's not where I wanted it. I guess I was expecting to much.

I wish I could give you a big fat hug. I guess a cyber hug will have to do.

I love this for a lot of reasons, not the least of which is the informative Author's Notes. Thank you VERY MUCH for sharing this. Sometimes it can be hard to even convince someone that he or she is in an abusive relationship, much less try to get them out.
Anyway, this chapter has good flow, and your characters are developing nicely. Dialogue is good and doesn't sound "forced" like many authors tend to do. Great work, and keep it up. Thanks again for sharing this with us. Cheers!

I love it. It is an excellent, compellingly written story that develops a point very well. Good job writing this and not getting to distracted with the "moral" (and your arm).

Spouse abuse is a serious topic. Fear of being caught is sometimes an overriding factor in not wanting to try and leave. I like the trust that's developing between Anna and Troy.
Just some suggestions to think about for today's post:
Para 2 - Let's go in (into) the den
Para 5 - When she stood in the door (doorway)
Para 9 -
When Anna entered the coffee shop, she saw Paul sitting at a round table.
(Anna saw Paul sitting at a round table when she entered the coffee shop.)
Para 11 -
"No, let's get the business out of the way." She glanced around. "I hope nobody sees me."
("No, let's get the business out of the way." She glanced around the busy shop. "I hope nobody sees me.")
-- Like this example, there's probably a few other places that could benefit by adding a little more atmosphere ...sights, sounds, smells, weather, etc.
Para 7th from the bottom (she's still working so this should be in the present tense):
"Anna, you graduated from college and have a well-paying job. The people you work with rely on information you supply them. If you were stupid, you wouldn't have been able to do that. Am I right?"
("Anna, you graduated from college and have a well-paying job. The people you work with rely on information you supply. If you were stupid, you wouldn't be able to provide it. Am I right?")
I think you're doing a great service by posting this book because you never know how it could be helping somebody make some serious decisions. Josie
