WOW ! Spiritual Echo, this wonderful writing carries quite a punch of wisdom, as well as heartfelt compassion. I feel it's about the best Christmas message I've read in this site, and I thank you for sharing it with me and all those fortunate enough to also read it. I only wish I had six stars to award it, but have none left. Very well done, my friend !

Ama

I like your story. I want to enter contest, but I only have dealt with this site. This encourages me to take a step forward and put my work out there. If it makes it great. If it doesn't keep writing and entering. That is what my mind whats me to do. Thank you

Yes, it is a wonderful site to get you trusting in your abilities and there are thoughtful, couageous and interesting authors who contribute and review. Try to put a story out each week and then aftr a year go test deeper waters. God Bless! Now you made me cry!

You have all my stars, not because you were vulnerable, honest, or even said things in a skilled accent of prose, all of which were excellent by the way. I give you all the stars I hold in my pocket, because at the end of the page, or the day, whichever comes first for some, you touched the heart of an unknown writer on fanstory. You gave them hope. You put the glimmer of hope back in their eyes, and when they read this wherever they live, it could be an isolated frozen tundra, a cornfield in Nebraska, or the outback of Australia, but when they read it, they will fist pump the sky! Then, they will keep writing. You gave them the Christmas gift of hope. The gift that keeps on giving.

Your comments make me think. Jesus said "Man does not live by bread alone..." Not sure if this is an exact quote, but I'm sure you get the drift. There is an inner yearning that transcends physical needs. For me, herein lies the intrinsic value of poetry.

All the best to you and yours this Christmastide. Love and be loved.

This is an enjoyable read and I agree on many of your important points here. We need to balance our lives and interact with those in need like you have stated. Poetry for me is a breath of life, doesn't always matter if it is good, bad or ugly. I commend you for this essay and have a happy holiday season!

I love poetry. I can't write it very well and there are many who are a part of my club that take themselves too seriously. But then there are the gifted, there are a few, but Rosah comes straight to mind that pluck at heartstrings as if the heart was a Strativarious (spelling?) Poets do not get enough credit.

Okay. You ask for a crappy review. Well here it is:

Crappy review. Crappy review. Crappy review.

There. Are you happy?

You do bring up a good point about spending $$$ just to try to entice people to read your work. If you don't spending the $$$ to get on the Featured list - for the most part your work will get ignored.

Is it worth it? That's only for the individual to decide.

This is one of the mose enjoyable reads ever on FS. I love this part:

"I am not a poet. I won a poetry contest once, by puking on a page."

You even include my daughter's favorite saying that I'm trying to learn to live by: "Get over it!"

I won't give you a crappy review. I liked this piece very much. It was heartfelt and genuine.
One thing: Springsteen....not the other spelling. I have been to tons of his concerts. He's a true poet.
