What a truly beautiful write. I felt this very much as I read it and that's the sign of a great poet. Your word choices here are perfect and fit the storyline well.

This a poem with a lot of heart. It tells of a gritty journey of a father's desire to some day meet his child. In spite of life's changes, he still dreams. Your poem is very well crafted.Your repetition of several lines is very effective. Blessings, Hector

Very nicely written.I like the rhythm of this poem I also like the wording.This is a man going to give up the whiskey for his daughter.Not knowing what lies ahead for her

A well written poem with a sad, yet hopeful ending. I found only one spag: "...she would not
(lose) face or dignity..." Good job though.
