Great story, bittersweet humor, and you handled that flashback so that it was easy to bridge.
I liked the way that you handled the conclusion, stimulating and delightful.
These people have great attitudes, and will be together as long as they live.
Great job!
Cheers, irish

excellent job!!! This story with the romance still glowing between the elderly couple is sweet and then I had to chuckle at the end with her Mr. Romeo remembering of all things that he has one viagra pill left and she makes sure the life insurance is paid up....good job.

This one is a brief love story about old people who have managed to be in love for decades. It is interesting to know that age is not necessarily a barrier to love. kudos

Well the Romeo's aren't quite what they used to be. I bet he was really a hoot as a young man. I enjoyed this. Great job. One little nit.

All()right, all()right.

This story is very entertaining. I enjoyed the ROMEO definition. The story gives us all hope that love can go on for a very long time. Good job!

He snickered, realizing what he had said - add comma
nudged her husband's shoulder - add apostrophe
Yea, Yea - Yeah, Yeah
come on, Romeo, - add commas for direct address
Come here, Romeo - add comma
What a cute story this is - I love the way the old couple have such warm humor and familiarity between them after over half a century but how he still dreams of the night he proposed. That is just so damned sweet :-) A great Valentine's Day story with a fun, risque ending!! Brooke :-)

A sweet, endearing depiction of a believable relationship that has endured the test of time. Very nice story and the way it was delivered was smooth and easy to read. The humor was there, as well as all the other elements necessary to make this a good contest entry. I really liked it. Good luck.

Here are some typos I've spotted.

"Alec, wake up." Jen nudged her husband(?)s shoulder.

Valentine(?)s Day

"Allright, allright. Can you push my walker closer?" (Can be written all right or alright, but not allright).

Also your title should be "The Romeos", no possessive.

I didn't really enjoy this story, I feel that it doesn't have a clear beginning, middle and end. It's as if the reader is left high and dry.

Border... thanks for taking the time to read my story and for those constructive comments. Unfortunately you do not share the same views as the other 25 +/- commentaries. Can you please be more specific on the "unclear" beginning, middle and end of my story as I am a bit, actually more then a bit puzzled by the comment. I would appreciate your input so that I may be able to learn from your experience as a writer.... thank you again, John

This piece is very funny. I enjoyed reading it. I like the surprise twist in the middle. It is well-written and I do not see room for improvement.
