Well, this hit home. I am from the south and know exactly what you are saying. My husband had those same feelings. And, you can imagine, the things that were said in our household. So, thanks for your post. It was great and to the point. Keep writing. Good luck and stay safe.

Thank you Carolyn, It is nice to hear from another southerner. That attitude never made a lot of sense to me.

Thank you for reviewing my story. I hope you realize I was writing it in such a way that I was hoping readers could see the humor in it. It was funny to me at the time, but I see it as funny now.

Well, clearly wrecking the car was the right thing to do. You had to get to work on time somehow, right? LOL. Great story! I'm generally a pretty chill person too, but I think what you're describing might have driven me to something similar. Good job! The story kept my interest all the way through, and I really enjoyed it!

Thanks you the great review. I've not had one of temper fits in a while but I still like to be everywhere early. I'm you liked my story.

Interesting that in the south at that time, men were seen as the real breadwinners. I can relate to your episode of snapping, I occasionally snap when things pile up. Excellent story for women to read.

Thank you for the review. Yes, that was the attitude. I didn't realize it was just in the south. I thought all men thought that way back then.

Lol. Much different from your thoughts. When Mary and I married we had made the agreement I would make enough money for her to stay home and take care of the kids. We lived up to that but she still wrecked the car. LOL.

Thank you for reading this one. I'll bet you saw a side of me you didn't realize existed. I don't remember ever being quite so angry. LOL I appreciate the stars.

If we are all honest, I don't believe there is any one who can not relate to this one, Beth. I also hate to be late and would prefer to arrive early wherever I might be going. My daughter on the other hand even uses "Alwayzlte" as her email address. LOl And yes she is and thinks nothing about it... even when coming for dinner and the food has been sitting there waiting.

Thank you Carol. I certainly have one daughter who could use that from her mantra. She has never been on time for anything. We no longer wait for her at family dinners. Most of time, we all finished eating when she arrives.

Lol. Enjoyed your humor especially about "flattening the tree" and how Don no longer wanted to be dare devil after his Evel Knievel lunchbox was smooshed in that particular incident. You have all my sympathies about the unjust attitudes toward working women!

Thank you Helen, I'm glad you saw the humor in this. It might not have contained any humor if I'd tried to write it right after it happened.

I'm not clear on the connections between being late and crashing the car--as I recall from the last, you left the car to go into the house for something Carol (?) forgot. Thoughtful self-analysis!

This was a renewal of post from many years ago when the first three kid were little, about 1971. Evan and rode together in those days. I was angry because he kept making me late for work. He usually dropped me off at my work, but that morning he finally told me to on ahead and drop the kids off myself. He was so late telling, I had a temper fit. Different time all together.

Road Rage happens to be a serious problem
in a world, where nobody really has patience
under bad circumstances. Nevertheless, your
writing kept everything in perspective. Keep Writing.
And don't forget to stop by to talk to me. Stay Connected

I wrote this a long time ago and after enough time passed, I found it funny that I had gone so nuts. I was trying to write this in a humorous way while still doing a bit of ranting. I appreciate the review.

I have to give you an exceptional rating on this story. I love to read your stories of long ago. It is like any other marriage; the wife has to hold her end of the marriage up to make it work.
