Hi Lynda! Yeah, I've not been in a good frame of mind about all this. Very worried. I may write some other works and pour out on our pathetic congress. My soapbox, for real! HA! Thanks very much for your very kind review and compliments. Much appreciated, Sue

Isn't it sad that the ones who work the hardest get treated like they don't matter? I get so incensed at the way our country is run that I want to scream. My hat is off to you for giving credit where credit is due. A great entry into the contest Cuz.
Best wishes,
Curt

I'm seething, Cuz. Over so many things. The corruption has now become incestuous and ingrained. Worried sick about it all. And a "little ole me" can't do shit about it. Would love to sue congress for MISAPPROPRIATION OF FUNDS and HIGH TREASON. Shit, the Founding Fathers are rolling in their graves. MOST especially Thomas Jefferson. They all may have had money, but they sure were revolutionaries who had a vision to keep big government in check and stop looking after that own wallets. I'm on a rant again! Stop me!!! Thanks for the review, Cuz....Sue

Your poem is well written and your message is presented nicely. What will become of us? I shudder to think. I found no errors. Good job.

SIXTEEZKID,
I read your poem and your notes. (I am angry too) The theme here is a good one. I hope that it falls into the hands that it needs to.
Well chosen words are expressive. Vivid impressions and rich narration, all lines formatted very well. Good job!
I saw no SPAG and no typos. It was very clean.
I look forward to seeing you again.
Love you,
Oatmeal

A most impressive and evocative statement of the qualities that good men bring to heir lives and their responsibilities. No need to comment on the rhyme and metre. It's perfect.

rhymelord, my father was a ceramic tile layer and he took so much pride in his work. Then he started his own business hiring other men. I can't imagine what would have become of us if we'd faced this situation. Trying to put myself in other's shoes right now and it is so very difficult to imagine. Thanks very much for your very kind review. Sue

Another good poem.
And so very apt.
It is the same here over in England.
I think you portray your thoughts well in your poem.
regards

This was an excellent poem tribute to the working class. Thanks for the author's notes and bringing it home to us what recession does to the economy and the simple people who can't feed their families anymore. The picture made me dizzy. Poor guy - what if he falls? (smile). Excellent work that should be read by many. Some forget how lucky they are.

One of my friends was an ironworker who walked those beams for 30 years. YIKES! Have no idea what possesses them to get up there. Thanks very much for your very kind review. Sue

Your beamworker made me think of the verse from the 19th century's popular song:
He flies through the air with the greatest of ease, The daring young man on the flying trapeze
-
Ha! Daring, indeed. Isn't it funny how something like that can just pop into your head? LOL!! I'll have to email him that one. He'll get a laugh.

I can get up on my soapbox and I'd prefer not to because I get all upset about our current situation (like everyone else). Thanks very much for your kind review and comments. :-) Sue
