It was so exciting to watch. No matter what we have the ability to be the best country in the world. I consider myself lucky to have been born here. joan marie

Sue - How many poems are you writing everyday? And the cost to post must be high. I am impressed. I have this rule that I cannot post until I have at least 20 member cent pumps which me about 5 to 7 days to earn. So I post about 1 to 2 stories per week.

Great poem giving acknowledgement and tribute to the presidential inaugaration. I enjoyed it. Well done. Charlie

Charlie, you kill me! HA! Let's just say that I live quite the hermit's life (for the time being only)! A few circumstances keep it that way for now. So, I consider my money well spent under my "entertainment budget" - Ha! God knows I don't spend on anything else right now. Just joking about the entertainment, though. I have found writing only recently and it has hit me like a lightning bolt. Can't imagine why it took decades to come out of me. But, being here has taught me more than I could have ever imagined. Trying to write in any new format I learn of. I always appreciate your wonderful compliments. Has most certainly kept me encouraged! Thank you for your lovely review. Always appreciated, Sue

Sue,

This is a great contest entry, my friend. Strong words speak with authority and when they speak, they speak with the truth. It doesn't matter what the world may think about us, we're still the best nation in the world.

Amen to that! That's why I wrote my poem about our founding fathers - "The Great Experiment". I have lived overseas and can say, I am SO proud to be an American. Nothing that anyone can say can make me doubt it. Thank you for your lovely review. Yours, Sue

Yes, the orderly transition of power every four or eight years is one of the finest parts of our democracy - one thing America has always had to be proud of - though I would take Bill back any time. LOL This is a great senyru - Brooke

Hello my friend,
I like this simple yet wonderful look at how our nation works. We may not all agree who the power is passed to but we only have to wait it out for four years... Great little write my friend... Dreamdancer

Absolutely! It matters not who the torch is passed to. We have no Kings or dictators. And power turned over with such civility. And for that, we are blessed. Thank you so much for your review! And your compliments on this work. Always appreciated, Sue

I set my alarm for 5am just to watch the Historical event unfold, it as a moment in time that will be forever etched in my mind and I'm definitely glad I got out of bed to watch it. I had a feeling you would post something relating to the event itself, very nicely done may I add. I would think the street parties will be in full flow now, COOL! Congratulations!

He was not my candidate, (although, I wasn't crazy about the other one either - ha!) but now, he is my President and I fully support him and our democracy that put him in office. Have high hopes, though. He certainly has a plate-full. So cool you set your alarm to watch! The world is watching. Thank you for these lovely comments and your review. :-)) Sue

This is a lovely poem, with a powerful message...democracy is a gift we take for granted often. I like your rhythm and all the alliteration you've used. Cheers. :)
