A nice memory of dad. How great was that?
I liked this little bit here-
Always makin' music
Was what he loved the most
Earl Scruggs and Don Reno
His heroes, he would boast
Cheers

I so enjoy your work and it is truly a pleasure to read and enjoy. Well done on this one in every way. Even though I feel one line your meter is off one beat. I would have given you a six if I could for the poem meets all the criteria I feel are necessary to bless your reader.

This is too lovely for words. The reader can sense the love you had, and still do for that fun spirit whom you now hold in memory. Just lovely.

I'm sure he serenades the angels and God with his banjo, how lucky you were to have a musical dad especially a banjo player which is a lovely instrument, lively and just a knee slapping good time, I would love to have heard him play Jed Clampett's ballet. Love piece of writing and memory and tribute to your dad, good luck in the contest best wishes yvonne

Wonderfully done and a nice tribute to your father. The poem read smoothly with good rhyme. I could feel the emotion for your father in your words. Great job.

Wow. What a lovely tribute to your father. The imagery of this poem was plain to see as I read, I saw your father smiling and playing for St.Peter! Well done. God Bless

This reminded me so my of my Dad, only my Dad played the violin. So did my grandfather. I wished I would have learned to play it way back then. It seems that when you get older, you realize what you had at one time, and took it for granted. Loved this poem. blessings my dear one.
